It is no secret that fashion trends come and go. New styles are created every day and styles from the past are constantly being revived. That being said, there are definitely trends that should not be revived. Unfortunately, every decade has a few terrible crazes to claim, but 2000-2010 definitely takes the cake. Without further ado, here are 25 horrible styles that we can only hope never to see again:
1. Flare jeans

2. Chunky highlights
Weirdly enough, the trend of looking like a zebra did not last long.
3. Hair gel
Because the illusion of greasy, unwashed hair was somehow seen as attractive?
4. Tube tops
They seemed so cool at the time.
5. Ed Hardy
If the goal was to look tacky, it was definitely achieved.
6. Frosted lip gloss
That lip gloss is not poppin’.
7. Dollar store hairpieces
Every girl had an entire drawer filled only with hair.
8. Gauchos
Skirts were too flow-y, but pants were just not flow-y enough.
9. Knit ponchos
10. Two-toned hair
A modern twist on Cruella DeVille’s look.
11. Raccoon eyeliner
There is no real explanation as to why this happened.
12. Excessively straightened hair
RIP to all of the fried hair.
13. Juicy Couture sweatsuits
Only the fanciest of people were lucky enough to have the brand name.
14. Hair chopsticks
Cultural appropriation at its finest.
15. Silly bands
A ridiculous waste of plastic.
16. Popcorn shirts
17. Halter tops
These offered far too many opportunities for wardrobe malfunctions.
18. Shrugs
Bonus points if you wore it over a slip cami.
19. Jersey Dresses
Yet another pointless invention.
20. Seashell necklaces
The intention was to look like a surfer. Everyone wanted to be a surfer in the early 2000’s.
21. Chokers
Even the name sounds unpleasant.
22. Crimped hair
Just… no.
23. Crocks
Burn them!
24. Livestrong bracelets
They’re ugly, and there is no way around it.
25. Frosted tips
Lance Bass led everyone down a very dark path.
