25 Beautiful Things You Can Still Look Forward To This Fall

"It's the little things that matter."

Perhaps now more than ever, those words ring true. It has always been - and always will be - the little things that make the biggest difference in how we feel. In light of that, here are 25 beautiful little things that you can look forward to this fall season, and all the ones to come. 🧡💛

1. Scented candles.

Cinnamon sugar, pumpkin spice, gingerbread, and everything in between.

2. Fall drinks.

We all know about pumpkin spice, but don't forget about caramel apple spice, warm apple cider, chai, and some salted caramel mocha. ☕

3. Sweaters that feel like a hug.

There's nothing like wearing your favorite sweater while you're taking classes or working from home. Or, better yet, when curled up with a warm cup of coffee and a good book or show.

4. Warm lights.

A small string of yellow lights in your room, living room, or backyard does wonders in livening up a space.

5. Seeing beautiful, warm colors at every turn.

Trees are just canvasses and their leaves are simply brushstrokes with the most beautiful of colors.

6. Stepping on crunchy leaves.

Jumping in puddles and stepping on leaves always brings out the kid in us.

7. The prettiest mugs.

Sometimes, all it takes is a cute mug to make your heart smile.

8. Seasonal decor.

The smallest painting, garland, or candle can refresh your setting and give a much-needed change.

9. Fuzzy socks.

Socks are just a hug for your feet, if we're being honest.

10. Boots for days.

If socks are hugs, then boots are blankets.

11. New hairstyles.

Trying a new hairstyle with the changing of the weather is a common, accessible way to feel good about yourself.

12. Pumpkin picking.

There are few things as wholesome as visiting a pumpkin farm and the nearby quintessential stores for the most special little finds.

13. The best baked goods.

There's nothing like spending a morning, afternoon, or evening baking some all-time and seasonal favorites: spiced cookies, brownies, and maple pecan blondies.

14. Chai.

Cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon? It's hard for my Indian heart to say no.

15. Crisp, cool air.

Breathe it in.

16. Scenic drives.

Pretty tunes and pretty skies make for pretty drives.

17. Warm blankets.

Feel the warmth and feel the love, then wrap yourself in it.

18. Comforting bowl meals.

Mac and cheese, winter salads, and lentils simply cannot be overlooked.

19. Scarf season.

Bring out those cute scarves!

20. Pumpkin pie.

Nothing else to say here.

21. Hot chocolate.

Hot cocoa and pretzels are an underrated combination. Also, pumpkin hot cocoa exists and you may want to try it.

22. Halloween!

Dress up or not, the decorations are always creative. Also, you may find your favorite sweet treats on sale.

23. Thanksgiving.

Family, friends, and food. 🤎❤🤎

24. Autumn nail polish colors.

Olive green, cream, scarlet, burnt orange, golden yellow, and maybe even navy blue.

25. Beautiful sunsets.

Take those polaroids, make those memories, and don't look back. 🧡

Wherever you are and however you may be feeling, take some baby steps to incorporate and/or be aware of little things like these. You're gonna be just fine because you already are, well, just fine as you are. 😇

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
