People can be SO mean but you don't have to be. We all can find the time and the kindness or our hearts to pay it forward. Here are 24 random acts of kindness you can do today!

1. Leave money for the person in line behind you at the grocery store.

We are all doing our Thanksgiving shopping, and for some, it is a strain on the wallet. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Even leaving the change from your total is something the person behind you will appreciate.

2. Help someone carry their groceries to their car.

We aren't all him. Lend a helping hand.

3. Take back someone's cart for them.

You’re going into the store anyway, why not take a cart in for someone else, saving them a trip in the chilly weather.

4. Offer to give someone walking a ride.

The little things matter. Especially in the cold, a ride just up the hill might mean they get to tuck their babies in for bed or make it in time to eat dinner with everyone else in their family. If you are unsure about picking up a total stranger, wait until you have another person in the car with you or ask your friends and family who they give rides to.

5. Share your umbrella.

The President can do it, so can you!

6. Hold the door open for others.

I go to a small liberal arts college and everyone here should get a degree in professional door holding.

7. Buy the food for the person behind you at the drive-thru.

8. Give gloves and canned goods to your local shelter.

9. Smile and say “Hello” to a stranger.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a listening ear, an honest complement, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. – Leo Buscaglia

10. Ask a stranger how they are doing.

11. Give the garbage collectors a card thanking them.

12. Take a bouquet of flowers to the nurses at the hospital.

13. Buy a meal for the next military person you see.

14. Leave random sticky notes with happy thoughts everywhere you go.

15. Make goodies for your neighbors.

16. Volunteer where your time is needed.

17. Hug someone who looks like they could use it.

18. Leave goodies in your mailbox for your mailman.

19. Compliment someone.

20. Send a care package to a soldier over seas.

21. Send a card to someone you haven’t seen in a while.

22. Let someone go in front of you in line.

23. Visit the local old folks home.

24. Donate Blood.

That’s three lives you can save every 56 days!

Whatever you choose to do always remember to be kind and pay it forward!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
