24 Things You Still Ask Your Parents In Your 20's
Elizabeth Parker

I may be in the minority of most 20-year-olds when I say this, but, I talk, text, or facetime with my parents at least once, if not twice a day. I have the full ability to navigate college life on my own, but every now and then I find myself asking my parents to help me along the way. I mean, they've lived through it all, so why not ask them:

1. Can I have some money?

2. How do you write a check?

3. If I took ibuprofen four hours ago, can I take Tylenol now?

4. Will I shrink this shirt if I put it in the dryer?

5. Should I cook this is the microwave? For how long?

6. My head hurts and my nose is stuffy. I am not dying, right?

7. How many stamps should I put on this?

8. I just ate something that expired. Am I going to die?

9. Is this normal? *Points to anomaly on body*

10. The toilet is clogged. What do I do?

11. What is the important of "blank" political argument?

12. How often should I wash the sheets on my bed?

13. What exactly does the flu shot do?

14. How do you jump a car?

15. What happens if you don't show up to jury duty?

16. Why doesn't my chicken taste like your chicken?

17. How long can you drive on a flat tire?

18. How much would a dog or cat cost?

19. So does insurance cover that?

20. Do I have to go to school tomorrow?

21. Can I use your credit card for _____?

22. Does this outfit look good on me?

23. Can we go to Hawaii?

24. What would I do without you?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
