Most black people can probably say they have experienced or dealt with some of these common struggles.
1. Having to take pictures facing the sun or light because you look too dark without it.
2. "Nude" Lipstick was not invented for you to use.
3. Everyone wants to touch your hair.
4. Being mistaken for all other black girls in school even though you don't look alike.
5. When you try to stay away from the sun because you don't want to get darker.
6.When you lose the one good comb that can do the job.
7. When the braids are so tight that you can't move your face for days.
8.When you have to carry lotion around with you in case of ashy skin.
Especially the feet.
9.The comment "I also have a black friend" or "My best friend is black".
10. Your hair and water don't get along.
11. Scratching your hair before applying relaxer.
12. Relaxer Burn.
13.Being told you talk white because you speak proper English.
14. When your scarf comes off in the middle of the night and you half-wake up to put it back on.
15. Having a whole day set aside just to get your hair done because it takes forever.
16. When your white friends make comments like "We can't see you because it's dark"
17. When you snap your fingers while making a point or after you've made your point.
18.People can't stop staring when you have a white boyfriend or girlfriend.
19. When you get judged because Taylor Swift is your favorite musician.
Just gotta shake it off.
20. Everyone expects you to know everything about black history.
21. When white people try so hard to act black.
Sit back and enjoy the show.
