I've always believed that it is true that "when words fail... music speaks." No matter the situation or feelings involved, music can bring light into a place of darkness. After going through a tough break-up, I relied on music to express the feelings that I couldn't put into words. Here are 23 songs, in no particular order, that I found to express every varying emotion that I felt followed by a small excerpt of lyrics.

"Only One" - Yellowcard

"Made my mistakes, let you down and I can't, I can't hold on for too long"

If You Don't Know - 5 Seconds of Summer

"Cause I remember the taste of your skin tonight and the way that you looked, you had those eyes. I remember the way it felt inside and the names of the songs that made you cry."

All I Ask-Adele

"And since you're the only one that matters, tell me who do I run to?"

Even Now-Dashboard Confessional

"Even now I can see you smile. I can hear you hum. I can hear your sing and I always can find you again"

Stone Cold-Demi Lovato

"I was your amber, but now she's your shade of gold."

Drunk-Ed Sheeran

"What didn't kill me, it never made me stronger at all."

Missing You- Tyler Hilton (Originally by Dave Wilcox)

"There's a storm that's raging through my frozen heart tonight"

The Mixed Tape-Jack's Mannequin

"Where are you now? As I'm swimming through the stereo, I'm writing you a symphony of sound."

Yesterday-The Beatles

"Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay."

Breathe Again- Sara Bareilles

"And my burden to bear is a love I can't carry anymore."

Scars- James Bay

"We grow apart, I watch you on the red horizon. Your lions heart will protect you under stormy skies and I will always be listening for your laughter and your tears."

rEaR vIeW- Zayn

"I'm tired of looking at myself in the rear view."

Somebody Else- The 1975

"Our love has gone cold. You're intertwining your soul with somebody else."

Chainsaw- Nick Jonas

"Keep finding things that you left on purpose...did you plan that your timing's perfect?"

Maybe You're Right- Miley Cyrus

"If you ever get to the place where the sun is shining everyday then I'll be on your mind."

You Could Be Happy- Snow Patrol

"And all the things that I wish I had not said are played in loops 'til it's madness in my head."

Ashes and Wine- A Fine Frenzy

"I'll drown in my tear storming sea. That would show you, that would make you hurt like me."

No Angel- Birdy

"Sometimes I wish we could be strangers so I didn't have to know your pain. But if I kept myself from danger, this emptiness would feel the same."

Colors- Halsey

"You were red and you liked me because I was blue. You touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky and you decided purple just wasn't for you."

Tyrants- Catfish and the Bottlemen

"but your divine ribs would help break mine. We hit the ground."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
