Have you ever thought to yourself, "Wow, this rock star is super hot, super cool, and his songs are really 'jammin'?" One could say this about various dudes in the music industry, but there is one man who rises above them all — a real 'rebel', a true American hero —Mr. Thomas Earl Petty. Why, you ask, is this Petty guy so great? He is just simply 'The Man'. Here's why...

1. His flow is legendary.

2. He met and was inspired by Elvis Presley, The King of Rock & Roll.

3. He's almost as cute as Willie Nelson.

4. The man really knows how to sing...

5. ...And play guitar...

6. ...And capture the hearts of women everywhere.

7. His music video for "Don't Come Around Here No More" is better than any rendition of Alice In Wonderland.

8. He escaped a burning building without a scratch after an arsonist set fire to his home.

9. He performed at Superbowl XLII.

10. He's got some great stories — seriously, they're so great. Listen to his radio show on "Tom Petty Radio," brought to you by Sirius XM.

11. He wears funky, cool outfits including shades indoors and his signature gray top hat.

12. He's in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (duh).

13. He collab'ed with Bob Dylan — the man, the myth, the legend — and Stevie Nicks — the *~*~*coolest*~~*~ of cool girls.

14. He worked as a groundskeeper for The University of Florida where he planted a lime tree which is now referred to as, "The Tom Petty Tree."

15. He played 'Lucky', a character from TV series "King Of The Hill" who happens to look and talk exactly like Tom himself.

16. He has also starred on "Saturday Night Live" five times.

17. There is a slang term after his name, "Tom Pettying," which is used mainly in the hip-hop world and translates as—having a wild, fun, unpredictable night.

18. He has performed with at least three bands, including The Traveling Wilburys, Mudcrutch, and most recently and commonly known, The Heartbreakers.

19. He hates popular modern trends such as technology, reality television, DJs, American Idol, and new age country music.

20. He took guitar lessons from Don Felder, the lead guitarist for the Eagles.

21. He and The Heartbreakers have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

22. He's a true patriot — he recorded the song, "American Girl" on July 4th, 1976.

23. At age 66, he still hasn't retired, and I don't think he ever will.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
