24 'One Tree Hill' Quotes To Live By

I’m always looking for quotes on how to describe my day -- whether I’m happy, sad, heartbroken, mad, lost, or just having a bad day in general. But I never have to look to far because of a few reasons: All my quotes come from "One Tree Hill," and I have every episode memorized, so it’s pretty easy to find a quote to represent my day. "One Tree Hill" has always been there for me in my time of need. With this in mind, here are 23 (you’ll understand the number reference if you’re a fan of the show) of my favorite quotes from "One Tree Hill."

1. “People are going to label you. It's how you overcome those labels, that's what matters.” -- Brooke Davis

2. “You're too young not to believe it's gonna be OK.” -- Peyton Sawyer

3. “Sometimes people need to cry out all their tears to make room for a heart full of smiles.” -- Jamie Scott

4. “That pain in your stomach, that pain in your heart, it goes away. That voice in your head thats saying there's no way out, it's wrong. Would you please, please just believe me? It gets better." -- Keith Scott

5. "But I think we have to go through all of this stuff, you know, to get to the places we want to be." -- Brooke Davis

6. "All you can do is your best, OK?" -- Jamie Scott

7. "If you’re lucky … if you’re the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back.” -- Nathan Scott

8. “And when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair, remember it's only in the black of night you see the stars.” -- Whitey Durham

9. “Anorexia is a disease, it is not a fashion statement.” -- Brooke Davis

10. “It's hard missing someone, but if you miss someone, that means you're lucky. It means you had someone special in your life, someone worth missing.” -- Nathan Scott

11. “Most people are stronger than they know. They just forget to believe in it sometimes.” -- Keith Scott

12. “There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on the path while others tell you who you are? Or will you label yourself? Will you be honored by your choice? Or will you embrace your new path? Each morning you choose to move forward or to simply give up.” -- Lucas Scott

13. “Sometimes I think we waste our words, and we waste our moments. And we don't take the time to say the things that are in our hearts when we have the chance.” -- Clay Evans

14. “I realize now when your heart breaks, you got to fight like hell to make sure you're still alive. Because you are. And the pain you feel? That's life. The confusion and fear? That's there to remind you that somewhere out there is something better. And that something is worth fighting for.” -- Nathan Scott

15. "She said your chances are one in a million, and I said, maybe I'm that one. She said you're not. She was wrong, and whatever she thought she saw in me was wrong, because I am that one in a million." -- Brooke Davis

16. “It was a comet. The boy saw the comet and he felt as though his life had meaning. And when it went away, he waited his entire life for it to come back to him. It was more than just a comet because of what it brought to his life: direction, beauty, meaning. There are many who couldn’t understand, and sometimes he walked among them. But even in his darkest hours, he knew in his heart that someday it would return to him, and his world would be whole again, and his belief in God and love and art would be re-awakened in his heart. The boy saw the comet and suddenly his life had meaning.” -- Lucas Scott.

17. "But what are we waiting for? All we have is now. Don’t run from this." -- Mouth McFadden

18. “I’ve come to the conclusion that if having things turn out the way you wanted them to is a measure of a successful life, then some would say I’m a failure. The important thing is not to be bitter over life’s disappointments. Learn to let go of the past. And recognize that every day won’t be sunny, and when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair, remember it’s only in the black of night you see the stars. And those stars will lead you back home. So don’t be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble and fall, cause most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you’ll get everything you wish for. Maybe you’ll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the destination.” -- Coach Whitey Durham

19. “At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world. Six billion souls. And sometimes -- all you need is one.” -- Peyton Sawyer

20. “You ever look a picture of yourself, and see a stranger in the background?. It makes you wonder how many strangers have pictures of you. How many moments of other peoples life have we been in. Were we a part of someone’s life when their dream came true or were we there when their dream died. Did we keep trying to get in? As if we were somehow destined to be there or did the shot take us by surprise. Just think, you could be a big part of someone else’s life, and not even know it.” -- Lucas Scott

21. “It's the oldest story in the world. One day you're 17 planning for someday and then quietly, without you ever noticing, someday becomes today. And then someday becomes yesterday. And this is your life.” -- Nathan Scott

22. “Imagine a future moment in your life where all your dreams come true, you know? It's the greatest moment of your life and you get to experience it with one person. Who's standing next to you?” -- Lucas Scott

23. "We spend so much time wanting, pursuing, wishing. But ambition is good, chasing things with integrity is good, dreaming. If you had a friend you knew you’d never see again, what would you say? If you could do one last thing for someone you love, what would it be? Say it. Do it. Don’t wait. Nothing lasts forever. Make a wish and place it in your heart. Anything you want, everything you want. Do you have it? Good. Now believe it can come true. You never know where the next miracle’s going to come from, the next memory, the next smile, the next wish come true. But if you believe that it’s right around the corner, you open your heart and mind to the possibility of it, to the certainty of it, you just might get the thing you’re wishing for. The world is full of magic. You just have to believe in it. So make your wish. Do you have it? Good. Now believe in it with all your heart." --"OTH" cast (Series Finale)

24. “Always and forever” -- Nathan and Haley

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from.
