When your campus is so small, it just happens that everyone knows just about everyone. There are always a handful of people that standout from the crowd and these are usually the over involved or over the top individuals that just happen to be everywhere. I call these individuals small campus celebrities. Here are some main signs that you are a part of the elite class.

1. You have to wear sunglasses even when it's dark because people might see you or stop to carry unnecessary small talk.

2. You have to take the longest routes as possible back to your dorm, just in case you have a run in with members of your fan club. In fact, if you happen to see them you must divert in the other direction.

3.When you walk into a room you know a minimum of three to five people in it.

4. When you are in the cafeteria you overhear random people say "Yo that's the girl that..."

5. You have a set social media fanbase.

People often tell you that they look forward to your weekend Snapchat stories or that they follow your Instagram adventures.

6. You have a set group of friends for eating, studying, partying, working out, and talking about feelings.

7. Your arms get sore from waving to so many people to and from classes.

8. When you go to brunch you hop around to many tables to talk to your fans. This leads your food to get cold usually.

9. You start a trend that others quickly follow.

10. You are usually the person that connects others together.

"Oh, you're friends with her?" "Omg me too!"

11. People do not question the things you do because it's you.

12. You don't need to show any extra cleavage or ID in order to get into any party. In fact, the second you walk in, a casual socializing event can turn into a raging dance party.

13. There are also odds that you may not get into a party because you are you.

14. You have most likely were mentioned in every organization's GroupMe at some point or another.

15. Your social connections allow you to basically succeed in anything possible. If you need to get something done, you know the people to help you do that.

16. You're the best matchmaker, but you're probably still single. Why get attached when you have so much going for you?

17. People quote you like you're Beyoncé.

18. When you walk into the cafeteria they know your food preferences and recommend options for you.

19. They know your name and favorite drink at the school coffee shop.

20. You have probably done something scandalous in the middle of campus.

21. You may be the reason why some of the rules in the student handbook exist.

22. You're the person under the mascot costume.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
