As some of you know, I’m an avid "Supernatural" fan. I’m currently on the 10th season on Netflix (no spoilers, please!), and I’m loving every second of it. Although I enjoy watching Sam and Dean Winchester kick butt and take names, I’ve found that my appreciation for the show runs far deeper than that. What I love most are the life lessons the show teaches. Here are my favorites.
1.Family comes first. No matter what problems they face, Sam and Dean are always there for each other. They never give up on each other, even when all hope seems lost.
2.Family is not just flesh and blood. The people who will always love you and be there for you are your chosen family. You’re just not related.
3.You’re stronger than you think. Even when it seems like you can’t go on, take a deep breath and keep moving forward. You’ll get there.
4.Let it all out. Bottling everything up and pretending you’re okay will only hurt you more. Sharing your feelings is sometimes the best move you can make.
5. Admit when you need help. You can’t always do everything on your own, no matter how independent you are.
6.Plan A doesn’t always work, and that’s okay. Just be sure to have a backup plan. Or five.
7. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Sometimes, you just need to make a funny face and laugh.
8. Love yourself. You deserve it, even when you don't think you do.
9. We all have a purpose. Not all of us travel around the country killing monsters, but we all have our strengths for a reason. Embrace them.
10. Always be prepared. You never know when matches or holy water will come in handy.
11. Study, study, study. Learning doesn’t stop after graduation.
12. Don't judge people prematurely. Even if they seem scrawny or incapable, they may surprise you.
13. You aren't responsible for everyone, even if you feel like it. Help who you can, but give yourself a break if things don't go as planned. You're doing the best you can.
14. Love your parents while you can. You never know when you will lose them.
15. Know when to let go and move on. Whether it’s a friend or a significant other, sometimes relationships have to end. Don’t be afraid to cut ties.
16.Take time to celebrate. It doesn’t matter if you’re celebrating a holiday or an A on a test.Put on a party hat, crank some tunes, and let loose.
17.Take care of your car. With a great (or even not so great) car comes great responsibility.
18. You're never too old for board games. Play with friends and enjoy!
19. Dancing is always a fun pastime. It doesn't matter if all you can do is the sprinkler. Get out there and bust a move!
20.Classic rock never goes out of style. Kansas, Survivor, and all the great rock and roll legends will live on in our hearts forever.
21. Sing loudly and proudly. Who cares what you sound like if you're having fun?
22.Your figure is important, but so are burgers and pie. They’re American classics, and they’re delicious.
