Ah, the most anticipated birthday celebration in America...the big 2-1! Every person counts down the days to this huge milestone in their life. They plan out everything they want to do that day, and here are the things you should do on your big day, not in any particular order

1. Get your license changed

It's time to make it official. Get your horizontal license.

2. Pop champagne at midnight

Start off your birthday with a BANG!

3. Go out to a bar

It's time to get your drink on in public because well, you can.

4. Dance to 50 Cent's "In Da Club"

"Go shawty, it's your birthday, we gon' party like it's your birthday"

5. Purchase something at a liquor store

"Excuse me, I'm looking for the cheapest vodka you have"

6. Treat yo' self to something expensive at the liquor store

When you see the expensive rare bottles and you want to be classy.

7. Try new drinks

Instead of going for a safe cosmopolitan...try the Moscow Mule.

8. Get dinner (and drinks) at your favorite restaurant

Nothing will make your favorite restaurant better than being tipsy and eating their food.

9. Buy a birthday outfit from your favorite store

It's your special day, so you should look special too. Hit up the mall and buy some new clothes.

10. Get Smirnoff "iced" by a friend

You know it's going to happen eventually, so take a knee with pride!

11. Get "Happy Birthday" sung to you

"Are you 19...are you 20..are you 21??!!"

12. Make a wish on your birthday cake

Yes, you do this on every birthday, but it's still a tradition you should follow.

13. Kiss a stranger

Make someone's night.

14. Take a picture with the bouncer

Commemorate this special moment with a picture.

15. Get a stranger to buy you a drink

If you turn 21 and someone doesn't buy you a drink, are you really 21?

16. Take a picture when you get carded for the first time

Another important moment to document.

17. Take a shot (or two...or more)

Bottoms up.

18. Dance all night

Hit the dance floor!

19. Go to sleep...after the sun comes up

20. Take a picture with the "21" balloons

Yes, this is "basic" but you only turn 21 once! You're going to want to look back at pictures one day and this will be a cute one!

21. HAVE FUN!

It's all downhill from here so remember to have fun! You will remember (or not remember) this night for the rest of your life so make it count!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
