It's the most wonderful time of the -- Hold the phone. Halloween hasn't even begun and they are already setting up the aisles with the Christmas decorations. Cue the heavy sighs and rolls of the eyes. Hey, it happens every year and you react the same way each time, right?
Or is that only me?
Not sure about your plans for the month? Still trying to decide what you're going to dress up as? There are plenty of ways to spend your time while still participating in the spirit of Halloween. Whether you are staying in, going to a costume party, or handing out candy, here are a compilation of thoughts to encourage your participation during this time of the season.
1. This is going to be great! Dressing up, eating yummy seasonal foods, fall festivities...

2. Holy cow! How in the world am I supposed to finish all of this work!? Midterms, exams, papers, projects, presentations, part-time job.

3. I want to make a pumpkin pie. Oh wait, there's no kitchen in this dorm.

4. Great! Time to avoid horror movies like the Plague.

5. *Ends up watching scary movies anyway.* I can never avoid it. I somehow get dragged into these situations around this time of the year. My friends always say, "If I have to suffer seeing this, you have no choice but to suffer with me."

6. *Stays awake longer than usual thinking that every little sound or even the slightest of movements means death.*

7. Everything pumpkin-flavored is so overdone.

8. *Caves and buys a pumpkin spice flavored gelato.* Good Lord. Pumpkin flavor is a heavenly gift.

9. A multitude of disapproving thoughts at people who decide to dress as a culture. It's inappropriate and offensive to people who actually identify as that culture. Watch it.

10. Someone invites me to a party.

11. Just kidding. That was my inner extrovert talking, and she makes things so much more cringingly awkward. You have been warned.

12. There should just be a masquerade. That way everyone is in a mask and on the same page.

13. Maybe I'll be a lawn gnome again. Or maybe even a ninja gnome. No? Alright, I tried.

14. Here's another original costume: come as yourself. If Katy Perry can belt about you being okay in your own skin, then work it in your own flesh and on Halloween!

15. There are so many possibilities with make up these days. A person could literally go as a piece of art. Abstract art, that is. Maybe even inspired by Vincent Van Gogh.
