Turning 21 is a very exciting and trying time for many people. We are finally getting a taste of what the real world has to offer. Our early 20s are a very crucial time for us in terms of growth, and we might feel like we are being swept away by how fast everything is moving. The truth is, we will learn a lot more about ourselves and the world around us in these next few years than ever. Though we might waste time worrying and stressing over things that may not matter, it's important to learn from the things that do matter. It's all about perspective. Here's some head-start pieces of advice as you continue to learn and grow, but don't forget your youth.
1. New friends can be equally as important as old friends.
2. Mornings are the best part of the day, so wake up early. It's good for you.
3. We are here to learn things. Pay attention to everything around you.
4. Do something every day that scares you.
5. Don't rush, be patient.
6. Surround yourself with people who inspire you.
7. It's OK to ask for help.
8. Not everyone is on the same path. Don't be afraid to do something different than your friends and family.
9. Parents aren't right about everything, but they are right about most things.
10. Start drinking tea, and forget about the coffee. You'll thank yourself later.
11. Cherish your siblings.
12. Don't spend your money on possessions. They probably won't matter in a few years.
13. Trust your instincts. Go with your gut.
14. Meditation is the truest form of relaxation.
15. Your body belongs to you, not anyone else.
16. Don't buy things right away. Wait a few days ... you might not even want it anymore.
16. Listen to your soul and follow your heart. You only get one life.
18. Doing work is hard if you aren't passionate about it. Do what you like, and like what you do.
19. Take a trip abroad. You'll never be younger than you are now, so live it up.
