The long weekend you've been waiting for since Easter is finally here — it's Memorial Day weekend! Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. School is out, the sun is shining, and it's time to head to the beach! It's practically your patriotic duty to spend 3 days gloriously indulging in your favorite start-of-the-summer activities. Whether you're heading to the beach, planning a road trip, or just enjoying a backyard barbecue with your closest friends, you're going to need some tunes. So roll down the windows, crank the stereo up, and get ready to enjoy a stress-free weekend to hit off the summer! Here are 21 tracks for your Memorial Day Weekend playlist:

1. "Say It" by Flume ft. Tove Lo

Between the catchy lyrics and amazing Tove Lo vocals, this song is one of my favorites and is the perfect way to kick off the summer.

2. "Going to California (Mediocre Remix)" by Led Zeppelin

Only available on SoundCloud, this Led Zeppelin remix combines the timeless vocals of Zeppelin with a calming, mellow beat perfect for lying on the beach.

3. "Summer" by Marshmello

The chorus of this song is so fun and uplifting that you will be dancing in your beach chair. It is perfect for an outdoors activity like beach volleyball or running.

4. "Feels Like Home" by The Him

You won't be able to get enough of this chill vibe or the bass drop. You will definitely be playing this song on repeat all weekend.

5. "Cheap Thrills" by Sia

At the top of the charts right now, you can't help but sing along to this new hit by Sia. The contrast between beats along with Sia's flawless vocals makes it a great jam.

6. "Running Out" by Matoma

This new song is one of my personally favorites. Its catchy chorus is perfect when having a drink at happy hour, or just hanging out.

7. "All Night" by Chance the Rapper

If you are a Chance fan like I am, you will love this song. Chance's impressive rap skills combined with an upbeat chorus is perfect for a night out. This is my anthem for the summer.

8. "You & Me" by Skrux

The perfect tune for night cruising with the windows and top down. It is the best way to close out a hot summer day.

9. "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles

Written by Beatles' guitarist George Harrison, 'here comes the sun' is the perfect pop song and serves as a beautiful introduction to the first days of summer.

10. "Another Day in Paradise" by Quinn XCII

Just the title of this song gets you in the summer mood. This mellow rhythm will make you want to forget all your worries and lay in the sun forever.

11. "Waves (RAC Mix)" by Miguel

Miguel's remix of the song "Waves" by Mr. Probz is perfect for your MDW road trip. Put the windows down and the radio up.

12. "Elevate" by St. Lucia

Between the catchy lyrics and a beat that you can easily dance to, this song is a great jam to kick off the weekend.

This classic Bob Marley song is on my MDW playlist every single year — it is the perfect mellow vibe for whatever the day brings.

This indie remix of John Mayer's 'Free Fallin' is almost better than the original. John's soft voice mixed with an alluring bass drop is all you need on a summer day.

15. "Come Around" by Slightly Stoopid

Slightly Stoopid is necessary to have on the MDW playlist. This mellow tune will have you chillin all day long. Perfect to get you in the summer mood.

16. "Fast Car" by Jonas Blue, Dakota

This is an indie cover of Tracy Chapman's original song "Fast Car." Great lyrics, a catchy beat, and great vocals.

This summer favorite combines great vocals with an awesome beat, appropriate for any summer party.
