21 Signs You Are Holding Him Hostage In The Friend Zone
Audrey Willis

Ah, the friend zone. What a special place to live. I'm sure you are familiar and can think of dozens of buddies that have fallen victim. Your friendships are so cherished and savored but it is natural for someone to develop feelings. It happens to everyone, but for this one, I am just speaking to the girls in the room. Friend zoning is the one thing that is never meant as an insult but often taken as such.

Either way, here are some signs that you might be holding him hostage in the friend zone while not even realizing it.

1. Actually calling him a 'great friend'

2. Or commenting on how great your friendship is in general

3. Talking to him about your love life

4. Dragging him to run errands with you

5. When he asks you to hang out and you say, “OK! Who else is coming?”

6. Talking about your drama with him

7. Asking him to bring you food

8. Taking him shopping with you

9. Being vocal about other attractive males that you see that aren’t him

10. Calling him names like “bro” and “dude”

11. Bonus points if you call him “The brother you never had”

12. Maybe trying to set him up with one of your friends

13. Asking him why he won’t approach another girl

14. Minimal physical contact

15. Not putting large amounts of effort into your appearance because it is just your friend!

16. Always doing what you want to do

17. Getting advice from him about other guys

18. Crying on his shoulder for support — possibly because of a failed relationship

19. Being completely comfortable

20. Not sticking right by them in public places because it risks people thinking you are together

21. People are constantly wondering why you two aren’t together and your initial reaction is, “Oh, he is great, but for someone else”

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
