Alright admit it, you've dodged a text before. We've all done it. You know exactly what I’m talking about -- you “accidentally” overlooked your friend’s message, or played the “oh my phone died” or “my phone’s been acting weird lately” card. Likely story, you texting trickster.

And while I wish I had a clean slate when it comes to being charged with giving the cold shoulder to texts, I’m pretty darn guilty.

Here are 21 reasons why we are not hitting the send button.

1. The conversation got boring and someone must put an end to this lifeless talk (you're just doing the noble thing -- am I right?).

2. Someone you're totally not into just texted you "Hey."

3. Or worse, they asked you to hangout (and you're just not about that).

4. Don't forget the classmate that wants to "compare homework answers" (aka copy your hard work).

5. And curse those one-word texters (how the heck am I supposed to reply to "haha?").

6. "Oh, I'll reply to that later." *forgets*

7. Someone drunk texted you. Cool, but how does one reply to "Hey I'm at a party and so drunkkksdgldjsk" -- is it possible?

8. You "fell asleep."

9. The "I miss you" texts from people that you definitely don't miss back.

10. You literally have no idea what to say. *types out a response four times only to hit backspace on it each time*

11. Or do you ever just get really lazy, and just swerve a text, even if it's your best friend texting you? (Sorry BFF).

12. You've ignored a text for far too long that it would just be awkward to reply now. (It's been nine hours, should I still reply? Nah.)

13. Or maybe you're just not in the mood to talk. (You’re upset? Tired? Sometimes we need a break from the phone.)

14. Also, here's to all the late-night texts we get when we're already asleep that are no longer relevant when we see in them in the morning.

15. The conversation got weird, uncomfortable, and awkward (HELP).

16. You're actually really busy and literally don't have the time to type out a response (perhaps conquering your chem homework? Running a marathon? You're busy -- it's cool).

17. You cracked your iPhone screen (again) and can't respond.

18. You've made a grave mistake. You gave your number to a frequent textaholic, they've annoyed you, and now you've lost all energy to hit "Send."

19. When someone asks you a question, that well, you just don't have an answer to.

20. You're out of the county and you don't have international cell service (DUH).

21. They didn't see your "Phone's broken, message me on Facebook if you need anything" post.
