After being the baby of my friend group for so long, and watching everyone around me turn 21 and go off and have fun while I either worked or sat at home with my cat and Netflix, it's a sweet relief that it's finally my birthday. Here are 21 stages of finally turning 21 as told by the drama queen of drama queens herself, Miss Sharpay Evans.
1. It's my birthday, it's my birthday!
2. Guess who's finally 21.
3. Literally about dang time.
It feels like it's taken forever.
4. I won't have to stay home anymore while everyone else goes out!
Honestly, thank god. I was beginning to feel like a crazy cat lady.
5. Like I literally can't believe I'll be able to (legally) get into a bar now.
Not that I've ever been to one before or anything....
6. My friends are going to get me plastered.
This is *definitely* going to end well.
7. Downside of the being the baby of the group: everyone can't wait to finally get you obliterated.
8. I guess I need to get like actual "going out" clothes now.
My Gryffindor Quidditch PJ pants are not going to cut it.
9. Being legal is going to be expensive.
Well, maybe not, plus side of being a lightweight?
10. Plus that's what friends and 21st birthday shots are for.
11. I hope I don't do anything stupid and embarrassing.
Namely, with drunk boys....
12. But if I do, that's why friends are for.
13. And regrettable Snapchat stories.
14. Slightly concerned about how rough the next morning may be.
14. But at least I'll get to be crazy and fun and free with all my friends, finally!
15. Literally the thought of finally being legal fills me with excitement for all the possible legal fun my friends and I can now have.
16. Today marks the end of awkward house parties and sneaking alcohol!
Not that I ever did that, of course...
17. It feels nice to finally fit in with the big kids.
18. It's like so many more doors have been opened.
19. A new chapter begins!
20. Summer 2016 is going to be epic.
21. Twenty fun, bring it on!
Of course, be safe while being 20 fun, drink responsibly, and enjoy the good times!
