20 Of The Best Disney Channel Original Movie Songs

It is no secret that I love a good Disney Channel Original Movie. I spent the majority of Memorial Day Weekend 2016 watching the DCOM 100 marathon. It was spectacular to say the least.

From 2002-2007, my TV was forever on Disney Channel. I loved every aspect of it from the TV shows to the music videos to the back stage video clips. What I loved most though were the DCOMs. Even though the plots were pretty much all the same (some talented teenager found out that they had a skill and it quickly became their goal to make their dream come true in a 90 minute period), they provided hours upon hours of entertainment for millions of tweens. The premieres were some of the most exciting Friday nights for elementary school girls everywhere.

I think it is safe to say that the best Disney Channel Original Movies had the best songs. Some of these movies were musicals and others weren't, but at age 19, I know I'm not the only one who isn't ashamed to admit that I still will blast the songs found in these masterpieces in my car on a Thursday for a #tbt. Here are 20 of my favorites and, in my opinion, the best songs found from DCOMs:

1. "Strut" from "The Cheetah Girls 2"

If this song doesn't inspire you to let out your inner cheetahlicious-self, then I don't know what will

2. "We're All in This Together" from "High School Musical"

Not only is this song inspirational, but you most likely still know this dance by memory ten years later

3. "Supernova Girl" from "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century"

Zoom, zoom, zoom this song still makes my heart go boom, boom, boom

4. "Gotta Go My Own Way" from "High School Musical 2"

If I don't have a break up that is exactly like this song, I will have seriously done something wrong with my life.

5. "Cheetah Sisters" from "The Cheetah Girls"

This song is ALL of the feels

6. "This is Me" from "Camp Rock"

So much angst not only in this performance, but also in Demi's bangs

7. "Surf Crazy" from "Teen Beach Movie"

Even though I find Disney Channel to be a monstrosity now, I thought "Teen Beach Movie" was actually cute.

8. "Push it to the Limit" from "Jump In!"

The fro.

9. "Play My Music" from "Camp Rock"

PRIME Jonas Brothers right here.

10. "Introducing Me" from "Camp Rock 2"

I wish a picture of what Nick Jonas looks like today were this entire video.

11. "Bet On It" from "High School Musical 2"

Ok, maybe I do get why Zac Efron is a little embarrassed of his High School Musical days, but I think this shows a wide range of acting.

12. "Do You Believe in Magic" from "Now You See It..."

You may not remember "Now You See It..." (I sure don't), but I know you remember Aly & Aj's "Do You Believe in Magic"

13. "Breaking Free" from "High School Musical"

I mean, duh.

14. "The Galaxy is Ours" from "Zenon the Zequel"

Look me in the eyes right now, and tell me you don't love Proata Zoa. I dare you.

15. "We Rock" from "Camp Rock"

Who doesn't love a good DCOM finale song?

16. "Get a Clue" from "Get a Clue"

The first of MANY DCOMs Brenda Song was in.

17. "It's Over" from "The Cheetah Girls 2"

I LOVE the unnecessary dramatics.

18. "It's On" from "Camp Rock 2"

I love a "pump up" DCOM song almost as much as I love a finale DCOM song.

19. "More than Me" from "Stuck in the Suburbs"

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Jordan Cahill is now on SNL.

20. "Out of This World" from "Zenon Z3"

Please stop this Proata Zoa imposter immediately.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
