There are many moments in life that make you want to crawl into a hole and stay there for a few days; however, there are so many amazing, under appreciated moments that we take for granted. Some feelings in this world simply make life so much greater. Here is a list of 21 feelings I have begun to notice and appreciate:
1. The very first stretch in the morning.
It is absolute perfection every time.
2. Putting on clothes that are fresh out of the dryer.
It is heaven until that disappointing moment when you realize they are room temperature again.
3. Getting off of a plane when you have reached your vacation destination.
It's in that very moment when you realize your dreams have become reality and you're basically bouncing off the airport's walls.
4. Climbing into bed after an unbelievably long day.
You are already asleep before you even finish your huge sigh of relief.
5. Even better, climbing into a freshly-made bed.
"Look Mom, I made my bed. I'm not complete a failure."
6. The runner's high.
For all of you runners out there, you know what I'm talking about. I think I experienced this feeling that 1 time I ran for a couple of minutes...
7. Taking a shower after exercising.
I usually end up just standing there and pondering life for a few minutes.
8. Smelling brownies baking in the oven.
Did my house just become heaven? Because it sure smells like it.
9. Getting mail in college.
SOMEBODY LOVES ME!
10. The smell of spring.
It’s just too amazing to ignore.
11. Feeling the summer sun after a long winter.
That first sunburn hurts so good.
12. The last day of school.
13. Jumping into a pool or the lake on a hot, summer day.
It is instant relief from the heat stroke you were just experiencing.
14. Warm sand beneath your feet.
Not the temperature that makes you sprint out of fear of getting third degree burns, but the perfect temperature that makes you bury your feet in it because it is so wonderful.
15. Your pride after finishing a performance.
You can't wipe that smile off of your face.16. When someone plays with your hair.
“Don’t ever stop.”
17. Checking the last item off on a to-do list.
One word: power.
18. Watching movies on a rainy day.
“I don’t even feel bad that I got nothing accomplished.”
19. Buying a new pair of shoes.
Or just the feeling of shopping in general.
20. Hugs.
Any hug can make your day better, even if it is an awkward one from Voldemort.
21. Realizing you’re smiling about something that happened earlier in the day.
You don’t even notice that you’re smiling until it’s already happening.
