You've gotten what you want on your millennial Christmas list. You've eaten two dozen cookies that your Grandma brought. Now it's time to set those resolutions! What are some of yours? Everyone has those basic ones, including going to the gym on a regular basis, eating healthier... c'mon girls, let's diversify some of these resolutions.

1. Get fit, get in shape, look "hot."

This is every college girl's #1 resolution and the #1 resolution that gets forgotten about the second day of February. January is the WORST time to go to the gym because literally, everyone is at the gym trying to work off their Christmas food sins. I advise waiting until February to go to the gym because the crowds will open up and you'll finally get an open treadmill. Save January for an easy transition from the couch to the treadmill. Try running, or at least running to the fridge for a banana.

2. Go on the gluten-free, no carb, only juice diet.

Yeah, and then you'll be back to eating all things carbs like pizza, pasta, and late-night ice cream once you go back to college.

3. #DontTextHimBack2018

Every girl should have this on her list. If your boo thang is toxic for you, meaning he only pays 50% attention to you, doesn't treat you like a priority, or doesn't support you, then he should be on his way out the door in 2017. Leave that shit in 2017, girl. You don't need that toxicity in your life and don't shoot him a "you up" text at 2 am on New Year's Day.

4. Take responsibility.

You get older in college and you start to realize that you have to take care of yourself. That means setting your doctor appointments, realizing when to say "no" and stay in and study. Or, it means deciding where to be after college ~scary thoughts~. Maybe the responsible thing to do is to live at home after college and work near home. It saves money and you get to spend extra time with your parents because they're not getting any younger.

5. Live it up in 2018.

#Make2018GreatAgain. Aside from being responsible, live a little! Sure, you're getting older but that doesn't mean you should be planning your gravesite! Go out, have fun, dance on elevated surfaces. Because it's yo life and yo deserve to have fun, girl.

6. Don't take any shit from anybody.

Yeah, I said it girl. This means from your boo thang, family, and group chat. You will take no shit from your friends. You will give it straight to them without fear of losing your friends. 2018 is about you and dishing it out straight up. You are only worrying about yourself.

7. Get a job.

Alas, all college students, in general, want to get a job. I mean, it's common sense that you come to college to get an education and then a job career. Stay on LinkedIn, Monster, Indeed...or even the classifieds section in the newspaper. I'll take a part-time job for an entry level! #HireMe2018

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
