On March 4, 2018, the 90th Annual Academy Awards will transpire. Elite actors and actresses will don their couture clothing and celebrate the year's best films, and if you're like me, you'll be sitting on your couch in yoga pants watching it all. So far this awards season, there have been several crowd favorite films. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, The Shape of Water, and Call Me By Your Name have all been very popular at previous awards shows, but who knows which film will dominate at this year's Academy Awards.

The most coveted nomination at the Academy Awards each year is always Best Picture. This year's nominees are: Call Me By Your Name, Darkest Hour, Dunkirk, Get Out, Lady Bird, Phantom Thread, The Post, The Shape of Water, andThree Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri. If I had to pick a winner of these films, Lady Bird would win, hands down. However, I predict Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri will snag this Oscar because they've won best picture at nearly every other awards show this season.

I imagine one of the biggest accomplishments as an actor or actress would be snagging an Oscar nomination, let alone winning on Oscar! This years nominees for Actor in a Leading Role are Timothee Chalamet, Daniel Day-Lewis, Daniel Kaluuya, Gary Oldman, and Denzel Washington. Based off previous awards shows, I think Timothee Chalamet or Gary Oldman could take this one.

As for the ladies, nominations for Actress in a Leading Role include Sally Hawkins, Frances McDormand, Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan, and Meryl Streep. Based on the past response, Frances McDormand could be favored to win in this category, though any of these brilliant women could snag the Oscar. Not that I'm playing favorites, but go Saoirse!

In film, some of our favorite characters aren't always the leading men or women, which is why the Academy nominates actors and actresses in supporting roles. This years nominees for Actor in a Supporting Role are Willem Dafoe, Woody Harrelson, Richard Jenkins, Christopher Plummer and Sam Rockwell. The nominees for Actress in a Supporting Role are Mary J. Blige, Allison Janney, Lesley Manville, Laurie Metcalf, and Octavia Spencer.

Other nomination categories include Animated Feature Film, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Feature Documentary, Short Subject Documentary, Film Editing, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Adapted Screenplay, Original Screenplay and more. Be sure to tune in on ABC, March 4, at 8 p.m EST.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
