I can't tell you how many times my grandma has asked me "what does this word mean?" or "how do you kids find out about all these words" We obviously find out these terms through popular social media platforms such as Twitter. Since my grandparents aren't active twitter users I have decided to dedicate this article to them and teach them a few important slang terms of the year 2017.
1. Bop
No, this doesn't mean bop someone in their face, but it does mean something that you like or think sounds good. For example "This song is a bop"
2. GOAT
This is an acronym for Greatest Of All Time which you would use when describing someone else. Someone might use this term when saying "Leonardo Dicaprio is the GOAT."
3. Thicc
Some people also like to say "Thicc with two c's" for this slang. This an adjective used to describe someone that has curves and is a little larger than an hourglass figure. For example "She is Thicc"
4. Savage
When someone is being brutally mean. For example when Wendy's Twitter account was asked "How much does a Big Mac cost? they responded with "Your Dignity". That was savage.
5. Shook
When someone is shook they are shocked or can't believe what is going on. For example "Wendy's savage tweets have me SHOOK."
6. Ship
This isn't a type of boat you get on, but it is the action of wanting to put two people together in a romantic relationship. For example "I ship Miley and Liam"
7. Lit
You aren't turning on any lights with this word, but instead you are talking about how something is fun or you are having a great time at an event. For example "This party is lit"
In conclusion, I hope I have taught you something new today and maybe you can start using some of these terms in your everyday life. At your next Christmas dinner maybe drop a "This dinner is lit" and who knows you might just impress your grandchildren.
