I am at a loss. I wonder what to do with my life. I live in one of the greatest generations for movies. I won the Battle of Middle Earth in 2003, I graduated from Hogwarts in 2010 and now I survived the Hunger Games. Yes, of course there are so many superhero movies to come out in the next three years, but those can be abundant and last until the end of mankind. Through the tragic passing of great film trilogies and sagas, here are a few movies to be super psyched about in the up coming years. (This article contains posters and trailers. No spoilers intended.)
" Star Wars: The Force Awakens"
Just watching that trailer gives me chills. How can you not be excited for this! Just think, the first film was released in 1977! Now, we are getting what appears to be one of the greatest sequels to a saga possibly of all time! I cannot express in mere words the excitement that lurks within me for this film.
"Finding Dory"
A few weeks ago, Ellen DeGeneres released the trailer. Here it is.
I shed a small tear because this is my childhood. I do not think I have been so excited about a cartoon movie as I have been for this one!
"The Huntsman: Winter's War"
Chris Hemsworth, a powerful red-head and a Halsey song in one trailer is pretty fantastic all in its own. Needless to say, I am pretty excited for this film, but I enjoyed "Snow White and the Huntsman." Well, I enjoy almost any movie with Chris Hemsworth, but I give hope to this film.
"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice"
This could be the real kickoff for DC films. The competition with Marvel is pretty steep, and they generally lead to really great films, but DC is slow to put out films. This should be the start of a great DC era.
" Suicide Squad"
Again, DC is showing true promise of breaking out of its shell. I do not know which one I most excited for, but the promise of good superhero (or should I say villain) films is on the horizon. I am still a bit disappointed that Tom Hardy passed on this film, but he will always be the best Bane.
"Alice Through the Looking Glass"
I love Wonderland, and the fact that Disney is taking us back is so fantastic! Of course, who does not love disappearing cats, mad hatters and a Jabberwocky? Full of adventure, this looks to be another one of Tim Burton's fantastical creations.
"The Jungle Book"
Disney is making my list again with this live action remake. I think I am truly drawn to Scarlett Johansson's voice, but that is great casting.
"Captain America: Civil War"
Oh boy, Marvel, you got me! The biggest thing now is to decide if you are Team Captain America or Team Ironman.
All in all, 2016 looks very promising for movies, and that is not even all of the films. Marvel, DC and Disney definitely know what they are doing because they are putting out exciting films. I hope you enjoy any or all the films as much as I will! Here's to 2016!
