If you've never been to Warped Tour, then you're definitely missing out, and if you miss this years, you're going to regret it like no other. If you're reading this and don't even know what warped tour is well then allow me give you a little insight.
It is a music lovers dream (minus the heat, especially if you live in Texas like me). You are given the chance to walk around a huge lot and stop by different stages and listen to your favorite bands, as well as listening to some you may not normally listen to everyday, as you wait for your favorite band to take the stage. There are tons of music/merch tents, along with tents with tons of information about different organizations as well as tons of freebies. You meet some really cool people, and the chance of running into your favorite band members is always a possibility. It's a rockers paradise, as well as something you get to experience every summer.
Though the rumors were floating around, the agony of waiting for an actual confirmed 2016 Warped Tour lineup nearly had all of it’s fans wanting to pull their hair out (or maybe it was just me?).
I woke up the other day to about 12 different messages all with the same photo:
Now, I would definitely be lying to you if I said my inner pop-punk self didn't shriek just a tad. Over 70+ bands, and majority of them are my favorites which makes me think Kevin Lyman (founder of Warped Tour) is spoiling me to the max.
As soon as I saw my favorites, The Story So Far, on the list, I immediately said to myself, "Yeah, I'm going." But then, as I proceeded to see the rest of the lineup, it was only to get better. Long time favorites, and absolute sweethearts, State Champs are on the lineup and I couldn't help but feel nostalgic being that two years ago at Warped Tour is when I first saw State Champs and ever since then, I've been hooked. Other favorites include Tonight Alive, Roam, Knuckle Puck, and Issues.
At the top of my list to see this year: Chicago based pop-punk band, Knuckle Puck. I got into them a few months ago and my case of bad luck stepped in and I never got the chance to see them anytime they stopped for a show in Dallas. I know they're badass live considering my friends will FaceTime me during their set (s/o to Harleigh!!) I am so incredibly stoked to see 'em in the flesh.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Grab some friends and make sure to stop by a Warped Tour date near you and check out these incredible bands in the summer sun. It's an unforgettable experience and you'll be stoked to go again the year after.
