The Class of 2016, you will be missed, but the possibilities for you are endless.
The college graduating class of 2016, who was originally the high school graduating class of 2012, this class has always been under rated. In high school they were given the wrap for the beginning of the worst, the laziest generation, and the ones who can't get away fast enough. So screw the haters and thank you to the class of 2016 for everything that you have done for the students following in your footsteps.
Anyone born between 1975 and 1995 are categorized under the label of generation Y, or most commonly known as Millennial's. I know personally that I give the word Millennial a negative connotation, and rightfully so, people always walk around saying how lazy and entitled the Millennial's are, but that is another story for another day. The class of 2016 may be apart of the millennial category, but their work ethic and determination does not deserve that disservice. The best leaders that I have ever met have come from this class, they not only know how to carry themselves but how to rally the troops. The class of 2016 is a class I have grown to love and have looked up to throughout my high school and college years and I am sad to see them go, but are excited to see all that they accomplish in life. Thank you for all the life lessons, thank you for showing me what it means to be a team player, thank you for teaching me that you can lead people and still have fun at the same time, but most importantly thank you for teaching me not to care about what people think and to just be myself. The class of 2016 is better than all those before it, and quite frankly maybe after it too, you have all marched to a beat of a different drum, you have stood face to face with adversity and have worked harder than any other class I’ve ever seen.
From an athletic stand point, the senior athletes, the ones leaving their programs this year, will be dearly missed, your work ethic and leadership shinned so very bright here, in the weight room, during the games, practice and everything in between were all successful due to your leadership.
I am partial to this class mainly because of my sister, who without her, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. When I think of hard work, when I think of resiliency, when I think of what it means to stand out and be absolutely remarkable I think of my sister, as well as her class, because they have all developed an act for never settling for average, and that is something I will always admire.
So thank you to the bad asses of 2016, good luck in graduate school, the real word, or what ever this next chapter of your life has in store for you, I know you won’t disappoint.
