As I write this I am listening to the tail end of the September 2015 Apple keynote. Today awesomely innovative technologies and features were introduced to Apple fans all over. What follows is brief descriptions at the amazing software, products and accessories shown off by Apple today.
Apple Watch:
With iOS 2 coming out for the Apple Watch soon, Apple has boasted around 10,000 apps coming to the watch such as Facebook Messenger and I translate (and with that why would you need a phone?). A new app called "Airstrip" was also introduced allowing for doctors to navigate their schedule on their wrist as well as view a patients lab results, send in medical orders and even communicate with nurses and their patients. Paired with another app called "Baby Sense" it allows a doctor to order a no stress test from a patient to be done in their own home and allows the doctor to see the results in real time and communicate with the expectant mother. Apple also announced more customization capabilities with the watch band of the device announcing that more bands would be released soon.
iPad Pro:
Perhaps my favorite bit of news from the Apple Keynote, is the launch of the new iPad Pro coming out this November and starting at $799 for the 32GB Wifi version, $949 for the 128GB Wifi version and $1079 for the 128GB version with wifi and carrier plans. The iPad Pro boasts a larger screen at 12.9 inches, four speakers 8MP camera and 5.6 million pixel display that beats out the 15 inch Macbook Pro. With iOS 9 the iPad Pro allows for multitasking capabilities allowing for more windows to be open on one large screen. New developed apps such as 3D Anatomy, allow the user to interact with 3D models allowing doctors to interact with their patients by bringing them a new level of understanding what is going on with them, allowing to show 3D models of the skeleton and how it interacts with the muscles. Aside from that Microsoft Office programs will be brought to the iPad Pro as well as new Adobe applications such as Adobe "Photoshop Fix". New accessories include a more intuitive keyboard attachment and my personal favorite the "Apple Pencil" which allows more deeper, fine and precise drawing capabilities for the IPad Pro.
Apple TV:
Starting at $149 for the 32GB version and $199 for the 64GB version. Allows users to interact with their TV using a partially multi touch remote and Siri capabilities. The viewer can search across multiple platforms for movies and TV shows without having to open any apps. They can search for movies by simply asking Siri to find a movie for them using whatever qualifications the user gives them. The Apple TV will also allow someone to look up live sports scores, weather and tidbits about what they are watching without interrupting the show.
iPhone:
The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, will be available for pre order this Saturday and released two weeks from today. With a new Multi Touch capability called "3D touch" users can take a peak at content without opening it. A new feature called "Live Photo" uses data taken from before a photo was taken and after the photo was taken to allow you to interact with a photo as if it were a video. Apple will allow you to now sign up for a $32 monthly program that allows you to upgrade your iPhone when the new one comes out. As well as do monthly contracts for an IPhone with $20-$30 monthly payment installments for any carrier.
So there you have it, a brief look at the new things coming this year from Apple.
