We all have done it. We find ourselves overly attached and constantly rooting for the couples on our favorite television show. We feel as though we are part of their relationship. We follow their journey through the ups and downs, and get to be there for their first kiss, fight and everything in between. Even though we know they are fictional, we can't help but cheer them on and pretend that they are in love in real life.
Here are some of the best TV couples that give every viewer serious relationship goals:
1. Jim and Pam
They give hope to anyone who has been friend zoned. It seemed as if time was always against them, but they were finally able to get together. They truly were best friends and it showed in every thing they did. They also showed us the importance of being goofy and always pulling practical jokes in relationships.
2. Nathan and Haley
Few couples get married their junior year of high school and have a baby during their graduation, but every couple can relate to the ups and downs of Naley's relationship. From the start of their relationship Haley makes Nathan a better person, and they always believe in each other's dreams. Through car accidents, crazy nannies, and kidnappings they truly live out "always & forever."
3. Derek and Meredith
They started as just a girl and a guy who met in a bar, but now have become a couple full of relationship goals. Yes, like any couple they had their fights, break ups and make ups. But unlike most couples, they also had shootings, bombs, drownings and plane crashes. But through these events, they realized how important their love for each other really was. It was simple. He loved her, and she loved him. Their love was all they needed, and they sealed it with a post-it.
4. Rachel and Ross
From the very first episode, we all knew that these two were made for each other. We were all cheering for them even when they were on a break. Even though they drove each other crazy, they never stopped loving each other. Plus, they were great parents to Emma. Rachel and Ross gave us all hope that we can all find our lobster. And honestly, we are still crying because she got off the plane.
5. Corey and Topanga
For most 90's kids, Corey and Topanga was their first relationship goals. From the sandbox, to college and eventually marriage, they were able to make it. Of course they had their fair share of fights, even including the time Corey kissed ski lodge girl. But because of their enduring love, they were able to work through it. Thankfully, 90's kids can continue to fall in love with this couple through Girl Meets World.
6. Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky
They aren't the most compatible people, but they love each other and make it work. I mean just think about the first time they met. Jesse, who is usually Mr. Confident, stumbles over his words while talking to her. Becky loves the most important things in Jesse's life-- DJ, Stephanie, and of course, Michelle, even before they get married. Aunt Becky becomes a mother figure to the girls. They later becomes the parents to Nicky and Alex, making them go from relationship goals to family goals.
7. Kristina and Adam Braverman
They are each other's support system. Adam never left Kristina's side while she bravely fought cancer, and she supported him when he wanted to quit his job and open a recording studio. Not only are they what we all hope for in a relationships, but they also are the perfect parents. They fought for their son, Max, who has Aspergers, and eventually opened their own school for him.
8. Tami and Eric Taylor
They showed us that you can be insanely in love even after years of marriage. They loved each other with their whole hearts, but also knew when to call each other out. They knew that love means compromise and never ending support. Tami was there for Eric after every game, win or lose and constantly shared her husband with football. After multiple state titles, Eric realizes it is his turn to support Tami. Once she is offered her dream job, he decides to also take a job in Philadelphia.
9. Leslie and Ben
The progression of their relationship was so beautiful. At first Leslie hated Ben, but they soon began to warm up to each other and ultimately fell in love. Ben not only accepted Leslie's quirkiness, but embraced and participated in it. They supported each other through everything even if it came with sacrifice. Most importantly, they not only loved each other, but liked each other.
10. Luke and Lorelai
They were best friends. Luke loved Lorelai, but stood back and loved her from a distance while she dated other guys. Luke loved Rory like his own daughter and was always there for her and Lorelai. It took her a while, but Lorelai finally realized what was in front of her the whole time. The man that fueled her coffee addiction and fed her with diner food was the man of her dreams.
11. Chuck and Blair
This couple takes complicated to a whole new level. They put the fate of their relationship in destiny. "If two people are meant to be together they will eventually find their way back." They are destined for each other, even though they are not always good for each other. Their love wasn't easy or fair, but they fought for it, and in the end found their way back to each other.
12. Zack and Kelly
This high school couple broke up multiple times before their Vegas wedding in college. Kelly dumped Zack and dated jerks before realizing that he was the one for her. Thankfully, they gave us hope that high school sweethearts do have a chance.
13. Brooke and Julian
Brooke went through a lot of heartbreak and watched all of her friends find love, but thankfully finding Julian was well worth the wait. He makes her believe in love again and finally Brooke gets the boy of her dreams. After many ups and downs, including failed adoptions, Brooke finds out that she is pregnant with twins, and Brooke and Julian get their happily ever after.
14. Marshall and Lily
They are a constant reminder that we should taken life too seriously, and that life is more fun when spending it with your best friend. They respect each other's dreams, and are there for each other during tough times. Plus, they have adorable nicknames for each other. Lily Pad and Marshmallow forever.
15. Monica and Chandler
Chandler went from being terrified of committed relationships to selflessly loving Monica. They showed us the importance of laughing with one another. I mean the first time Chandler tells Monica he loves her is while she is dancing with a raw turkey on her head. If that isn't #goals I don't know what is. They support each other's dreams, and they balance each other out perfectly.
There are some things that are very unrealistic about these couples, but there are a few things that are realistic and very important. Believe in each other dreams and support them in all they do. Know that you are going to fight, but they also know your love is something worth fighting for. Always remember the importance of laughing with one another, and being each other's best friend.
