You take 100 hours of credits in three years so that you can hurry up to your final and most exciting year in the college of education, Student Teaching. You've learned all of your psychologists from Piaget to Bruner. You can make a lesson plan off of any three objectives just give me an "I can...," and I can fill in the blank with anything that perfectly aligns with the state standards. Just the mention of Bloom's Taxonomy has your mind tiering your blank lesson plan. If all of this sounds familiar to you, yes indeed, it is true, you are ready for the last phase of your educational education. And I bet right about now, you've got a whole bunch of thoughts and questions running through your head as you start preparing yourself for this last leg of college because I know I do. Here are some things you've probably thought or will think here soon!

(P.S. You can check me on this and make sure these thoughts are fair and testable after you read!)

1. Can I really even do this?

2. The kids are going to hate me.

3. Please, dear Jesus let my mentor teacher be friendly.

4. What if I have no classroom management?

5. If I don't ace the first day, I might as well drop out.

6. Is this modest enough to wear in the classroom?

7. What if I get lost in the hallway?

8. Every day can't be a Pinterest day. It is literally not possible.

9. What if these kids fail the state test because of me?

10. Maybe I should wear glasses to make me look more sophisticated.

11. I have no money.

12. I hope I make an impact in these kids' lives.

13. What if my mentor teacher has no classroom management, and I fail because the kids don't listen?

14. Am I sure I want to do this?

15. I'm just a kid myself

16. What if I don't know the answers?

17. Papermate Flair pens, OMG must have!

18. Where should I get my teacher bag?

19. This is going to be sooo much fun!

20. "I can" analyze that this school year is going to be successful based on my excitement, my passion, and my love for the students.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
