I've turned 20. I'm halfway to being 40 (yes, I cried too). There's so much I have yet to learn, and so much I still have to accomplish to even be considered a real adult. Here are the 20 most important things I've learned, and that I hope you can learn.
1. Patience is powerful.
2. Good friends are hard to come by, so learn to cherish the few you have.
3. Love is a two way street, and it's hard.
.
4. You can't make everyone happy. Be someone's shot of whiskey before you're everyone's cup of tea.
5. Don't judge, it only makes you less of a person.
6. Take the time to travel, either see the world or study abroad; it's invaluable.
7. You have to be responsible now.
8. Let go of toxic people.
.
9. Be no one but yourself.
.
10. Question everything.
.
11. You're going to have to work for what you want now.
.
12. You actually have to make your own appointments. Yes, it is scary, but don't run away from it.
13. Just relax. Life can be busy, but taking care of yourself is the most important thing you can do.

14. Start saving money, because now, you're going to be responsible for all of those pizzas you order and all the online shopping you do.
15. Don't choose your future based on what will make you money, choose what you love.
16. Be fearless, life is scary.
.
17. You're not perfect, but you can pretend to be.

18. Fake it until you make it. Really, just fake it.
19. It's still okay to eat dessert for breakfast. It will always be okay to eat cake, no matter what time of day it is.
20. Life gets better. It may seem stressful now, but life is like a fine wine, it only gets better with age.
Here's to the next 20 years; may they be just as good as these ones.
