20 Things That Happen When You Get Your First "Big-Girl Bed"

I moved into my first apartment this year, a very big and exciting step! The only thing bigger and more exciting is my new bed. I've grown up with a twin-sized bed my whole life, so getting a full-sized mattress was a pretty huge deal for me. This is what I've done since it got delivered:

1. Invite my parents to spoon with me after they finished helping me move in.

2. Text all my friends on campus and invite them to spoon with me.

3. Lie in bed for several hours after waking up to bask in the glory of my new big-girl bed.

4. Eat breakfast in bed.

5. Eat lunch in bed.

6. Eat dinner in bed.

7. Invite my dogs to spoon with me.

8. Try out what my bed feels like from every angle.

9. Sleep smack-dab in the middle of my bed.

10. Sleep in a tiny corner of my bed, leaving the majority of it vacant.

11. Make my bed every morning (talk about pride).

12. Watch Netflix in bed.

13. Make phone calls in bed.

14. Lie in bed and literally stare at the wall in front of me.

15. Drink tea in bed.

16. Do homework in bed.

17. Let my friend crash in my bed from 1 to 3 a.m. (don't ask).

18. Contemplate life in bed.

19. Convince myself to stay in because going out would mean losing valuable time in bed.

20. Write this article in bed.

So yeah, I'm just a little bit excited to have a big-girl bed. PS: I moved in less than a week ago, so I guess this list will be pretty extensive by the end of the year.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
