I just turned 20 this past week (YAY) and I have a lot of things that I have learned in the past twenty years that I would like to share with y'all.
1) Playing in the rain is something that you just have to do sometimes. Rain is so relaxing and I promise you won't melt.
2) Having a close friend that you've known for more than 10 is extremely important. You have that person who knows you and has been with you through a lot.
3) Talking in class is not the worst trouble you will ever get in. I promise that.
4) Extra ice cream is always worth it. So is cake.
5) You will get in fights with your siblings, but their blood, so don't worry about them staying mad at you forever.
6) But, you should always be sweet and treat them nicely because they are blood so they will be there forever like I said in #5.
7) Sun dresses will be your best friend after a bad sunburn and so will strapless bras.
8) Boys will be jerks and you don't need to waste your time on them when they treat you like crap.
9) There will be someone else.
10) High school is actually really important, so please pay attention.
11) College isn't for everyone and that is perfectly fine!
12) It's okay to not know what you want to do with your life at this age.
13) Don't wish your life away. You will miss a lot of memories that way.
14) If someone calls you fat, just punch them in the face. Jk. Realize that your body is made by the one who created the mountains and the stars. And it's okay to have a little extra with that. (;
15) Having days where you do nothing but watch Netflix is amazing. Cherish those times because sometimes you will go weeks without being able to watch anything. At all. #college
16) The relationship with your parents is one of the most important relationships you will ever have.
17) The most important relationship you have in your life is the relationship you have with yourself. Take time to realize what you like to do and who you are.
18) Photographs are meant to be taken. Whatever the reason, capture it.
19) I thought being 19 was being an adult. But it's not. Being an adult means acting like one, whatever age that may be.
20) Say "yes" to more adventures. Life is short and you may not make it to 21. (But I pray you do.)
So here's to 20! Let's see what trouble I can get into now.
