20 Things I've Learned By Age 20

And no, I still do not have a clue what I'm doing.

Two decades of laughter. Two decades of tears. Two decades of friends. Two decades of experiences. Two decades of memories. Two decades of life lessons-like these...

1. Family is always the most important.

2. Friends are super close behind.

3. You will never be the prettiest girl in the room.

4. But you will never be the ugliest either.

5. Laugh at yourself, it makes everyone more comfortable.

6. Spend time with your grandparents.

7. Fake it til you make it. In school, in social situations, in work, in everything.

8. Do things for people without expecting anything in return. Nothing feels better.

9. Buy the shoes.

10. Eat the cheeseburger.

11. It's okay to change your mind. About what you want for dinner, about what to wear, about what you want to do with your life. Your desires change as you grow.

12. Take pictures. Of everything. Of everyone. All the time. And actually print them out.

13. Tomorrow is never going to work out like you planned it.

14. There will come a time that you're no longer "the best" at something you've always been the best at.

15. There is always someone smarter.

16. The world is a small, small place. Be nice to everyone and don't burn bridges. You never know who you may encounter again later in life.

17. Ask the stupid questions. Five other people are probably wondering the same thing you are.

18. There will be one boy that you will always love. No matter what he puts you through, you would sell your heart for him. That's okay. Keep loving him.

19. Work. your. ass. off. The next thirty years are worth a few all-nighters.

20. You never have as much time as you think you have.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
