Being a nanny is one of the most rewarding things a person can do in their life. Especially if you're a nanny to a toddler. Watching the little one grow, and reach milestones is amazing. However, we can't forget about all the other things that come with the job. If you're a nanny, I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about. There's the good, the bad, and everything in between.
1. Your favorite part is being able to roll into work, rocking the same thing you wore to bed.
2. You don't wince at the sight or talk of pee, puke or poop.
3. You get excited when he/she gets a new toy. That cat piano was getting REALLY annoying.
4. You've had a few sneaking suspicions of there being a nanny cam hidden somewhere. Specifically, when you walked away for a millisecond and the kid rolled off the couch.
5. You're up at the crack of dawn every morning and your only hope of relaxation is nap time.
6. You love Fridays, but you look forward to Mondays more than the average person because two entire days away from the little peanut is much too long, and what if she forgets who you are?
7. You've tasted baby food at least once.
8. You have mastered the art of multi-tasking; feeding baby, doing homework, brewing coffee (the third cup), making bottles and e-mailing people all at the same time.
9. Your friends have become bored with your stories, because most of them are about the kid you nanny. A baby's first tooth is an important thing, okay?
10. They don't even bother when it comes to snapchat. They know exactly what's coming.
11. You become more and more excited about the little one's accomplishments. And don't even get me started on when she took her first steps. Watching her grow up can be an emotional thing.
12. You often think to yourself “I am going to be a great mom someday.”
13. You often think to yourself “I am going to be a shit mom someday.”
14. Stains on your clothing have become the norm and you almost always go home smelling like baby formula.
^ Sounds about right.
