Often when I find myself talking about guys with my friends, the words "boys suck" basically sum up the conversation in whole. They puzzle us, frustrate us and we just wish they would act the way we want them too. However, because I'm trying to eliminate negativity in my life, I decided to actively keep track of nice things guys have done for me this week. So here is a thank you note to guys: whether you're a stranger or my best friend I want you to know your act of kindness, whether big or small, didn't go unnoticed.
So in no particular order....
Thank you for catching spiders in my apartment for me even though you hate them as much as I do.
Thank you for never judging me when I bring personal problems to you and always offering sound advice.
Thank you for not taking my problems lightly, but also not letting me mope for too long.
Thanks for letting me say out loud some of the crazy/stupid things I think (and for still being my friend after the fact).
Thank you for remembering things I told you months ago and for taking an interest in my life. On the daily, thank you for always remembering to ask how I'm doing and for stopping to listen to the answer.
Thank you for being a good boyfriend to my beloved froomie (friend-roomie) and for treating her with respect.
Thank you for letting me cry in front of you and not being too freaked out by it.
Thank you for being open with me and trusting me enough to share your story.
Thank you for holding the door for me, even though sometimes I don't look up from my phone to say thank you (I really do appreciate it).
Thank you for calling me out on my bs, even if I get upset for a while.
Thank you for letting me double (and sometimes triple *gasp*) text you about nothing important and still texting me back.
Thank you for explaining homework to me and being patient when I just don't get it right away.
Thank you for still smiling at me when we cross paths on campus even though I have arguably the fiercest RBF known to woman.
Thank you for always listening to me talk about my problems and always being down to have deep conversations with me.
Thank you for staying up until 4 in the morning to share conversation about God with me, and for inspiring me to pursue a better relationship with my Savior.
Thank you for letting me be annoying sometimes and not holding it against me.
Thank you for letting me use the soda machine in front of you in the sub (although I am trying to limit my soda intake).
Thank you for making room for me to stand in the front of the stands at the football game even though there really was no room (only a little sorry).
Thank you for not only being attentive enough to notice when my mood changes but caring enough to stop me and ask what's wrong.
Above all, thank you for making me smile. No matter how insignificant our interactions may seem to you, it reminded me that boys don't suck all the time.
