Have you ever turned on the radio and your favorite song was already playing? If you said yes, that sounds fake, but OK.
Have you ever gone to a party, surrounded by your best friends, and "borrowed" the aux cord? Yeah, that's what I thought.
I was at my friend's party this past weekend, having a night filled with GTs and Beatles music. I was dancing by the speaker when I saw an opportunity arise. The DJ had stepped away, so I seized the opportunity to steal the aux cord.
I waited until "Here Comes The Sun" finished before I seamlessly unplugged her phone and plugged mine in. I already had my song queued up and ready to go. People didn't seem to miss a beat when "Vienna" by Billy Joel started playing. The iconic beginning chords rang out throughout the small house. I looked out into the crowd and had an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. Here I am in a room, surrounded by the people who mean the most to me, dressed as a hippie, and "Vienna" is playing.
I set down my phone and ran to the nearest elevated surface to dance to my favorite song with my favorite people.
While watching everyone's Snapstories the next day, I began to reflect on other songs that elicit the same emotions for me. In an effort to procrastinate starting my essay, I complied a list of the top 20 songs that are sure to get you emotional and ready for a night filled with pajamas, wine, and your best friends.
