20 Small Lies Everyone Has Told

I don't like reading those articles that pop up on Facebook.

No person is telling the truth if they say they've never told a lie. (Unless it's Pinocchio and his nose doesn't grow I suppose) Almost every day I'm sure you tell a little white lie and probably feel like you're the only one who would ever lie about such a small thing. You're not alone, below are 20 small lies everyone has said at least once in their life:

1. It's okay

If someone says this without making eye contact there's a pretty good chance it's not okay.

2. I'm fine

Yeah, pretty much everyone knows that when someone says it they're probably not fine. Usually they're feeling just the opposite of fine.

3. I'm sorry

Most of the time people are being truthful when saying this, but there are times (especially when it comes to siblings and parents forcing it out of you) that you really don't mean it sincerely.

4. It's my fault

Especially during breakups or breaking it off with friends people have a tendency to say this. Like the last one, many people do believe it, but there are times when it's definitely not the case (according to you...).

5. That video was so funny

Most of the time this is said insincerely out of pity. A friend is showing you a video that they can't stop laughing at and you say this to avoid explaining why you aren't busting a gut.

6. No, I can't see your underwear lines

I mean, what else are you supposed to say as they're practically running out the door late to class?

7. I get 8 hours of sleep every night

Come on, you're not fooling anyone.

8. I wash my sheets every other week

How does anyone have enough time (or patience) to do that?

9. I've done the reading

Most students do, in fact, do the reading. But there comes a time for every student where it slips their mind or the next episode of Criminal Minds seems just a little more interesting.

10. No, I don't care

Yeah, you probably do care (at least some of the times).

11. I love your new haircut!

What else are you supposed to say? It's not like they can go get the six inches back.

12. I've never slept in class

Okay, and I've never watched High School Musical.

13. It's fine if you watch that video without headphones!

We all have to make sacrifices once in a while.

14. I love this song

This is especially true when your friend plays you an incredibly obscure song and tell you how it "gives them life" every time they hear it.

15. I hate this song

When your friend who only listens to indie music hears your new favorite pop song and drags it the only thing to do is pretend you don't know every lyric and harmony.

16. That really clears it up, thanks!

Yes, Mr. Robert, saying the exact same thing really helps me understand the problem, thank you!

17. I don't want another piece of pizza

You don't want one, you need one.

18. I'm not tired at all

If you're a college student, or pretty much anyone over the age of 12, there's a good chance you're at least a little tired.

19. I love this gift, thank you!

We were all taught to say thank you even if we didn't like the gift, and it really stuck with us through the years.

20. I love mornings

This includes you morning people. There has to have been at least once in your life where getting out bed at the crack of dawn didn't seem appealing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
