It was a risk. A calculated one, but a risk nonetheless. You decided to live with someone for an entire year based on pictures from their Facebook and awkward small talk after you slid into their DMs. This was how you picked your freshman year roommate. And as my dad often told me, you either get a best friend or a good story. Lucky for me, I got the good kind.
1. You ask each other about everything. There are no secrets and no boundaries.
2. Sometimes you just walk into the room after a bad day and climb into their bed.
3. Occasionally, you just ask each other if we could please have a dance party?
4. You stop feeling bad about eating their food.
5. Their closet is your closet.
6. Your life feels empty when one of you goes home.
7. You get way too excited when you see each other while you're out.
8. Their friends from home are your friends and vice versa.
9. You check the weather for each other, and then text each other updates after you left.
10. At this point, you buy so much food together, you just switch off.
11. You know everything about their classes.
12. Sometimes you yell at each other to get off your phones and do your homework.
13. You binge-watch shows together. Like a married couple.
14. You've gotten to the point in the relationship where you are constantly tagging each other in cute videos on Instagram. Even when you're both just laying in bed three feet away.
15. You couldn't imagine what it would be like to have a roommate you didn't get along with.
16. Sometimes, you both get really sad about realizing you won't live together in a month.
17. If you don't see each other all day, you give each other a full rundown of your day as soon as you get back.
18. You take care of each other on ~those~ nights.
19. You have plans to visit each other over the summer.
20. You have a best friend that you didn't have a year ago.
