20 Signs You're a Golden Knight

You know you got to Saint Rose when....

20 Signs You're a Golden Knight
Jackson Wang

If you are a Golden Knight not only are you a student at The College of Saint Rose, but you are a student at the best college. Chances are, if you've spent any time at strose, you can identify with most if not all of the 20 below signs.

1. You've wondered at some point why "Fear, The Golden Knight" is in fact silver, not gold.

2. You don't go to The College of Saint Rose, you go to "strose."

3. You and every person you know has an unwavering loyalty to their favorite pizzeria.

It's most likely either Madison's or Paesan's and you have a fully prepared list of reasons why it's the best.

4. You and your friends argue over wether or not the 12 bus will actually get you to Crossgates Mall faster than the 10. Don't even get me started on the 114, though.

5. At the end of the day you can always say you're "going home" because you actually do dorm in a real house.

6. You've locked yourself out of your room and had to wait for what felt like hours for someone to show up to let you back in. This is after you already knocked on all of your housemates doors hoping someone would be home to call security for you, because you definitely locked your phone in your room.

7. You know there's an art building named Picotte, you're also nearly positive it must be a magical location from an ancient myth.

Unless you're an art major, than not only do you know it's not a myth but it is most definitely magical.

8. Even after going to Saint Rose for 2 years you still have no concept of how the shuttles actually work. And you've definitely gotten on the wrong shuttle at least once.

9. You know what the nicknames "Bru," "RCC," and "EAC" each stand for.

10. You can wake up with five minutes to spare and still make it to class on time.

11. Most of your professors either like to be called by their first name or "Doctor." There is no in-between.

12. You know that anything on campus can be described as part of "The Saint Rose Difference." This phrase is the best because it can be used seriously or satirically. You made it from Bru to The Sanctuary in seven minutes? The Saint Rose Difference. The dining hall only has three options for dinner? The Saint Rose Difference.

13. You've mastered the art of stuffing as many oranges, apples, and bananas into your pockets as humanly possible while somehow still remaining unsuspicious when you leave the dining hall.

14. Annie, from the dining hall, is your favorite person on campus.

15. You see the same exact students at the dining hall every day no matter what time you go. Remember that time you had three plates of pasta, a grilled cheese, and a bowl of cereal? They all saw it. But they won't hold it against you because they've done it too.

16. You know that going to Camelot for lunch is a task which will require at least 45 minutes of wait time to be factored in to your schedule.

17. You can't imagine a "lecture" having more than 20 students in it. In fact, most of your lectures probably turn into support group at some point during class.

18. Anybody can and will bring up Jimmy Fallon any chance they get.

Yes, he went here. Yes, he has a TV show.

19. You're proud to be a member of such a passionate and diverse community.

20. You know that anyone can pull off black and gold.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
