Michael Scott is perhaps one of the greatest characters to ever grace our TVs or Netflix accounts. He is many great things, but most importantly, he is absolutely hilarious. After watching "The Office," I've come to realize that we all have a little bit of Michael Scott in us. Whether or not you believe you are like him, here are 20 reasons why Michael Scott is actually your spirit animal:

1. He's tough and isn't afraid of anyone or anything.

Prison Mike doesn't mess around, and neither do you.

2. He accepts that he is flawed.

Michael knows his shortcomings and isn't afraid to admit them.

3. He appreciates a delicious breakfast.

Bacon is the best part of any morning, and Michael knows that.

4. He loves Wikipedia for the valuable information it gives.

Wikipedia is any student's best friend, no matter how reliable or unreliable the information may be.

5. He likes to prank call other people.

Prank calling was fun in middle school, and Michael proves that it's fun at any age.

6. He's a pro at flirting.

We're all smooth talkers just like Michael.

7. He knows the importance of self-love.

Michael Klump proves that people are beautiful in any shape or size.

8. He knows that there's no "wrong time" to eat ice cream.

Ice cream is best enjoyed first thing in the morning.

9. He knows how to joke around with his friends.

"There's no such thing as an inappropriate joke, that's why it's a joke." We feel you, Michael.

10. He likes to look and act cool when he drives.

Who doesn't drive around in sunglasses while acting like Britney Spears?

11. He doesn't think before he speaks.

We all speak before we think sometimes, but if we get lucky, we too find our sentence along the way.

12. When he gets angry, he becomes a bit threatening towards others.

Sometimes, harmless threats are the only way to get your point across.

13. He understands the beauty of gift-giving.

Christmas is the best time of the year, because you can show people how many dollars they're worth.

14. He knows that if you don't like somebody, it can be hard to see them all the time.

When you dislike someone, you dislike everything about them. Michael understands how much someone's face can bother you.

15. He doesn't always know what he's doing, even if he initially thinks he does.

We all like to think that we know what we're doing, even when we really don't.

16. He hates realizing that he missed an opportunity.

Michael is proof that you should seize every opportunity you can.

17. He knows that it's often best to just not care.

Michael Scott doesn't give half a damn about most things, and neither do you.

18. He never lowers his standards.

Enough said.

19. He does the opposite of what people tell him to do.

Michael doesn't like being told what to do, so to spite others, he does the opposite.

20. He knows that sometimes, all you need is a hug.

And that's how you end a fight.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
