20 quotes to get you through the day

We all have those days. It started when you spilled coffee on your favorite top, escalated when you got a C on a paper you were sure was A material, and ended with a really bad fight with your boyfriend. It happens. I’ve found that when I’m having a particularly bad day, words make it better. Sometimes it’s a great book to take my mind off of things, sometimes it’s a poem that speaks directly to how I’m feeling. But most of the time, just reading a few quotes of inspiration can do wonders for my mood. Some of these quotes might seem a little cliché, but I always find comfort in them. And misery loves company, so I thought I’d share a few of my favorites that help me to get through those rough patches.

Think I missed one? Feel free to share it with me. I’m always looking for people who can make simple words on a page into something beautiful.

7. “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” –Maya Angelou

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
