Its been a few months since I have turned 20, but I have decided it is time to change. Up until now, I've always worried about everybody else. I have worried about what everybody else wants and what everybody else thinks. My 20th year of life is going to be my year. I am making big changes and I am making these changes for me. I have huge goals for myself, and I am not going to let anybody get in my way.

1. Be nice to everybody.

Including the people who are not nice to me.

2. Live for myself.

I am going to stop living for others and finally do the things I want to do.

3. Put my health first.

My 20th year of life is going to be for me. I am going to live my healthiest life-mentally and physically.

4. Be unapologetically me.

This is going to be the year I find me and be me. Unapologetically.

5. Go graduate school shopping.

I want to find the perfect graduate school for me, and I am going to do that.

6. Try new things.

I am going to try new food, new clothing styles, and new interests.

7. Get out of my comfort zone.

I am going to push myself to the limit and do things I never would have done before.

8. Stay away from drama.

Drama is not something anybody wants, but this year, I am avoiding it at all costs.

9. Go to the gym more.

Let's be honest, we could all use this goal. This year, I am going to take it way more seriously now that my metabolism isn't what it used to be.

10. Get more involved at school.

I am already pretty involved, but I want to be even more involved. I want to participate in every social event with every organization I'm in. I want to run for more executive positions. I want to do more community service. I just want to do more.

11. Make more friends.

I want to build stronger bonds with the friends I already have, but I also want more friends. I want to make new connections with people. I want to build lifelong friendships with people like you're supposed to do in college.

12. Be the best mentor I can be.

I want to be able to be there as much as I can for my younger friends. I want to be able to give them the best advice possible.

13. Spend less time in my room.

I am going to stop sitting in my room as much. I am going to go out more. Sitting in my room can put such a damper on my mood, and this is the year that I stop doing that.

14. Get over some fears.

I am going to face some fears and make myself get over them.

15. Find a job.

I need to find a job, and one that I actually enjoy.

16. Love myself.

This is my year to show myself some love. I will love myself in everything I do.

17. Go on a fun trip with friends.

I just want to go on a really fun trip, possibly a full on road trip, with some good friends! There's nothing better than spending quality time with friends.

18. Care more about how I look.

I am generally the leggings and t-shirt type of person. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I want to start dressing nicer and wearing make up more often.

19. Buy the things I want.

I am going to buy the things I want this year, as long as I have the money to do so. I'm not going to go into debt for something I want, but if I see something I want, I will get it.

20. Be happy.

Above all, I just want to be the happiest me I can be for all of my 20s, and that starts today.

My 20th year is my year of growth. I am going to learn more about myself and love myself more.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
