Despite what anyone may tell you, your first semester freshman year is a whirlwind of emotions. No matter what school you go to, these feelings of stress, freedom, relief, and fun will be felt unanimously. Luckily, the cast of The Office has apparently also gone through some similar times...

1. When the week has finally ended!

Thank God! Time to let loose and have some fun...

2. When your teacher announces that you have yet another paper due by the end of the week...

You have got to be kidding me.

3. When you have spent more money in your first semester than you ever have in your entire life

"In my defense I was left unsupervised."

4. When you have an assignment due at 11:59 and you haven't started it yet

Well, you win some, you lose some.

5. When you wake up too late to eat breakfast before your 8 a.m.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

6. When you are doing a presentation on something that you could not care less about

Who could possibly care about what I am saying right now!

7. When you go to bed at 3 a.m. and have to be up at 7 a.m.

I don't know why I do this to myself.

8. When you receive a care package from home... and it includes snacks!

Wink wink mom and dad...!

9. When your professor compliments your work

Please no photographs. I'll be signing autographs later.

10. When you can go to sleep at a reasonable hour

Praise Jesus. He knows I needed this.

11. When you're willing to do anything to avoid the freshman 15

Trust me... it is real and you must do everything you can to stop it.

12. When your whole friend group gets dressed up and you try to take a group photo...

Everyone smile on 3. 1..2...3..

13. When your mom wants you to own every article of clothing with your school's name on it

Sweatshirts and tee- shirts and sweatpants, oh my!

14. When you have 3 tests, 2 midterms, 2 papers, and a speech due all in one week...

When is fall break again?

15. Mandatory "fun" freshman activities

I have enough fun on my own, thank you.

16. When your teacher cancels class

Honestly, this has to be the best feeling in the world.

17. When you overcome awkward freshman ice-breakers without saying anything too cringeworthy

Yes, I can do this. Bring on the friendship.

18. When you and your roommate manage to keep the room clean for more than 24 hours

It's honestly some kind of miracle.

19. When the dining hall food is not looking too great...

Cookout run anyone?

20. When you can finally go home and see all of your friends and family

Reunited and it feels so good!

Being a freshman in college has its ups and downs, but this is certainly the beginning of a great four years! I can't wait for next year so I can do it all over again...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
