20 Embarrassing Things We've All Done

Well, maybe some of them are just me...

We have all had embarrassing moments that we don’t like to talk about. We play it off like nothing really happened or quickly look around to make sure nobody witnessed our second of horror. Take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. There is always someone out there who has experienced the same awkward moment as you.

1. A Chick Fil A employee asked me “dine in or carry out” and I replied “chocolate milk” because I thought she was asking what I wanted to drink.

Just me? Yeah, that's what I thought.

2. I stalked someone’s Instagram and liked a picture from 97 weeks ago. (multiple times)

3. I walked around all day with my shirt inside out.

Those 8am classes really throw you off.

4. I wondered why someone didn’t text back but I realized I never sent the message.

5. I walked down the stairs and did that weird hop because I thought there was another step.

6. I thought someone was talking to me but they had a Bluetooth in.

7. All those times I waved at someone who didn’t actually wave at me.

8. I have made awkward eye contact with the person next to me while stopped at a red light.

9. I have tripped over literally nothing.

10. I accidentally called my teacher "mom".

The school year was never the same.

11. Sometimes I practice saying “here” when the teacher is calling roll so I don’t screw it up.

12. That one horrible time I walked in on an old lady in a public bathroom.

13. I have told someone I couldn’t hang out because I had “plans” when in reality I just wanted to stay home alone and watch One Tree Hill.

Julian Baker or being social? Julian Baker every time.

14. I am so stubborn that when I realize I am wrong in an argument I just keep defending myself instead of giving in.

15. One of the worst is being called on by the teacher when I have zero idea what the answer is.

That's why my hand wasn't raised in the first place.

16. One time I was texting my friend about this guy and accidentally sent it to the guy instead.

Long story short, I resorted to blocking him.

17. I was in high school when I discovered Justin Timberlake was in NSYNC.

My apologies to Justin.

18. Sometimes I rewind FRIENDS if I miss the clap in the theme song.

It just makes me feel unbalanced.

19. It wasn’t until my freshman year of college that I saw Titanic.

To be honest I could have gone my entire life without seeing it and I would not be bothered.

20. I have stopped by Home Depot just to smell the wood.

It is like heaven in a store.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
