Here's a list of my 20 favorite local lunch spots in Dalton. Show some love to the small business owners and enjoy their fresh food the next time you're out for lunch!

1. The Chop Shop

Talk about a fresh deli sandwich! The Chop Shop has moved to a new location in Bryman's Plaza South (near Office Depot) and they've added a deli restaurant. If you've never dined in for lunch, you must go!

2. Tacos Tu Go

The best dang tacos I've yet to have in my life! Go in for lunch or grab some tacos on your way home from work for dinner. Taco Tuesday, Thursday, any day, or every day! If you're from Dalton, you have to love tacos. Especially authentic tacos!

3. Chelsea's on Thornton

The perfect place for a light lunch, hot tea, and a huge piece of their strawberry cake! My mom started spoiling me as a young girl with lunch at Chelsea's. It's one of our all-time favorite restaurants in Dalton!

4. Boulevard of Beer and Wings

Boulevard of Beer and Wings opened last Monday! Everyone in Dalton is super pumped about it. This is a perfect place to stop in for lunch to eat some wings, salad, or totchos (nachos but with tater tots). I tried the Loaded Boneless Wings (image below), yum!

5. Oakwood Cafe

Surely you've been to Oakwood! This is our southern restaurant gem in Dalton. They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner- go get some country cookin'!

6. Ice Castle

When you think of Ice Castle, you probably think of a gigantic ice cream cone. They have the best ice cream around, but their lunch is awesome as well! Swing by and get some soup, salad, sandwich, and a banana split.

7. The Spiced Apple

I love everything at Spiced Apple! They never disappoint. The perfect placed for a good soup, salad, sandwich, sweet tea, and homemade dessert!

8. The Filling Station

Home of the homemade southern food buffet in Dalton! It's fresh, savory, and all you can eat.

9. Town Square Cafe

Town Square Cafe has a mix of home-style cooking, deli-style sandwiches, fresh salads and homemade desserts. The meatloaf is the best!

10. El Pollo Allegre

If you like Mexican food and roasted chicken, you've got to go here! El Pollo Allegre has a set menu of chips, salsa, peppers, rice, beans, chicken, and ribs. The ribs are sold only on Thursdays and Fridays. Please go try this place! It's the yellow and red building. It's the best chicken roasted in Dalton, Georgia!

11. Perfect Cup

I love me some Perfect Cup! My personal favorites are the Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad, The Berry Grilled Chicken Salad, Bacon Cheeseburger, Tomato Basil Soup, Cocount Green Hot Tea, and the Dirty Chai Latte.

12. Hamilton's Food & Spirits/Pizzeria

If you're craving a steak, fish, burger, fried pickles, pizza, or calzone- go to Hamilton's!

13. Lisa's Cafe

Another great home cookin' spot in Dalton!

14. Buckin' Burrito

The place where you can create your own taco, burrito, quesadilla, nachos, and salad. A taco-riffic spot for lunch!

15. Chef's Pantry

A good place for chicken salad in Downtown Dalton! The image below is their Chicken Salad Fruit plate. Yum!

16. Lalo's To-Go

Lalo's is a drive-thru Mexican restaurant with a full menu, and it is AWESOME! Just because it's drive-thru, doesn't mean you should try eating it in the car. Trust me, I tried. ;)

17. Miller Brothers Rib Shack

One of the best places around for BBQ and ribs!

18. Willie's Burger & Fish Fry

Talk about some good food! All burgers are pressed fresh daily using only CERTIFIED ANGUS BRAND® ground chuck. They also offer catfish and jumbo shrimp, pit smoked BBQ and Italian subs.

I saved the best and my favorite for last! The little Salvadoran hidden treasure. It's authentic and delicious! Definitely try the pupusas and hot slaw.
