If you've had roommates, especially in college, you know these things happen quite often. Living with other people during the most fun years of your life is truly a testing time. Sometimes, you just get sick of each other's immature bullsh*t.

1. Toothpaste on the sink/mirror

How does this even happen?

2. Not restocking toilet paper/ towels but leaving the cardboard on the holder

Do you think you're being considerate by leaving the cardboard there?

3. Taking the longest showers in recorded history

Clearly saving water is not on their agenda.

4. "Taking out the trash" aka leaving the bags at the door

FYI, this isn't taking out the trash.

5. Or letting the garbage overflow obnoxiously

At this point, you're better off leaving the full bags by the door.

6. Dishes in the sink for days upon days

If you have the time to cook food, you have time to wash the dishes in a reasonable amount of time. Don't leave them caked on with food in the sink. At the very least, through the food out and wash the dish off.

7. Leaving a mess of food on the stove top

This is just straight up nasty. Learn to clean up after yourself.

8. Not cleaning up after a party

You're responsible for your guests and the mess you and them make. Your party, your mess. Clean it up before the week starts.

9. Leaving garbage and wrappers everywhere throughout the house

Same with #8, your mess, you clean it.

10. Not snaking the drain of their hair

No one wants to clean this after you shower.

11. Leaving for the day and starting a cycle of laundry

If you're not going to be home to go through a full cycle, wait to do your laundry. This goes along with the next one...

12. Not flipping laundry when it's done

If you do start a load of laundry, make sure you're keeping the flow going. Other people have laundry to do too.

13. Using things you bought for yourself (i.e. personal products, food, detergent, electronics, etc.)

I'm 110% positive that everything I bought, I bought with the intentions of using it. Don't use anything without of mine without my permission.

14. Taking up an obnoxious amount of space in the fridge and/or freezer

There's only so much room in there for everyone. Be courteous about how much space you take.

15. Not clearing the microwave of remaining time- how hard is it to press the clear button?

It's right next to the button for opening the microwave door...how hard is it to press clear? Serious pet-peeve.

16. Leaving clothes/shoes/homework/things sprawled out all through the house

Be responsible for your things.

17. Not pushing in their chairs after the get up

When you get up, push in your chair. It's simple and takes under 10 seconds.

18. Leaving the door unlocked

As victims of a robbery, this is especially annoying. Safety first, always.

19. Treating the bathroom as a bathroom for one

Everyone has to share this space. Keep it clean and keep your stuff in one area.

20. Not turning off their alarm

No one else wants to wake up at the time you are. Make sure you turn off your alarm and don't snooze obnoxiously.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
