As a 21-year-old, I am still learning and realizing so much about life. Lately, I found two "secrets" that I've been telling everyone, from ladies at the nail salon to people who sit next to me on airplanes, and everyone in between.
Secret #1: There is no such thing as a perfect life
So many people I know are searching for this fictional happy and perfect life. They shadow so many famous people and assume that with the same purse, dress, even lip gloss somehow this imaginary life of perfection will grant itself unto them. THERE IS NO SUCH THING. But let me tell you something. Your life CAN be perfect if you just change one thing: your attitude. While in Mexico, I saw so many people and visited their sheet metal shack of a house. I saw the buckets of water they had for when it rained a little too hard to drain their homes. Yet, somehow, the kids were so happy when they found a stick to play with, and parents were never upset that the TV remote was missing. It really all comes down to our attitude towards EVERY situation.
Secret #2: Never EVER give up
Such a simple statement, yet so hard for us to do sometimes. I saw this motivational quote on Pinterest about a child learning to walk. It essentially mentioned every countless fall that a child learning to walk has, yet you never hear a child believe that "maybe it just isn't for me?" We are humans and everyone can attest to the fact that no one is perfect. We will all fail at some point in our lives, especially if it is trying something new for the very first time. Why would we ever believe for a second that if we fail at something, we should give up? Get that voice out of your head, because your body CAN do ANYTHING; it's the mind that needs to be convinced. Meet each new day striving to complete the mindset that everything can be done, and if it does not turn out the first, second, or 80th time, then try for one more. Never EVER give up. You get out what you put in.
I know there are so many lessons to create a happy and perfect life. I have learned these two and cannot wait until I find some more to share! Hopefully, this inspired someone who needed to hear this or touched someone who needed some reaffirmation.
