This semester, I finally got to take the Intro to Creative Writing class that's offered at my school. I've always loved to write and I wanted to focus it in a class and see what other people had to say in workshops. This class was one of my favorite classes that I've taken. Still, there were many thoughts racing through my head each day in class, when I was writing my piece or when I was assigned a short story to read. Here's just a short list of the thoughts you'll have in a creative writing class:
1. I'm going to write a bomb short story.
2. My creative process is winging it, honestly.
3. Did he just mock Harry Potter?
4. How many of us are going to kill our characters?
5. Their*
6. Your story reminds me of that one TV show...
7. I'm sorry, what just happened?
8. Ten pages isn't bad.
9. I ... what did I just read?
10. Eh, I think I'm going to kill a few of my characters.
11. I definitely saw that coming.
12. I tried my hardest on that part!
13. I hate editing.
14. MY STORY IS OUT OF CONTROL.
15. I DON'T KNOW IF I'LL HIT 10 PAGES.
16. Everyone is using this class to use expletives in an academic paper.
17. You're*
18. Your STORY.
19. You have to keep writing, this is due tomorrow.
Despite the frustration, taking a creative writing class is worth. If you ever have the chance, take one!
