19 things that I love about my best friend

Hey Soul Sister

1. You make me laugh.

I don't know anyone who has a sense of humor like you, and although some of your jokes are admittedly pretty bad, I must admit that you're really funny.

2. You are absolutely, without a doubt, so incredibly beautiful.

The personality that is on your inside just makes what's on the outside even more beautiful. You have such a pure heart and a bright personality, and it comes out through everything you do.

3. You are dedicated.

To your schoolwork, to me, to our sisterhood. You put all of you into everything that you do, and it is so inspiring to watch.

4. You make me look at things realistically.

Sometimes I get a little carried away, and you always bring me back to reality. Because sometimes it's not the best idea to want to binge watch an entire season of my newest addiction on Netflix the same night I should be studying for my PoliSci test I have the next day.

5. No one gets as excited over 50 cent corn dogs as you do.

Honestly, no one. You get excited over the smallest things, but this one probably takes the cake. Well, takes the corn dog. But hey, were college students, right? Sometimes you just have to treat yo self, even if you're broke and the only thing you can afford is a corn dog.

6. I love our Saturday night movie dates.

Because why would you wanna be out getting wasted when you can be laying in bed with your best friend, add in about 13 warm blankets and an absurd amount of junk food? You're my favorite way to spend Saturday nights.

7. You are just as serious about our snap streak as I am.

Actually, that might be a false statement. I think you're a little bit more serious about them than I am. But hey, were on day 92, so something must be working out in our favor!

8. Our starbs dates, chick-fil-a dates....well, any food date with you is always a good date.

Because food is always a good idea, and coffee is a necessity. Plus it doesn't hurt that you don't judge me for ordering the large fry every once and a while. Need I say more?

9. You listen to all of my pathetic problems, and you make me feel better.

I'm sure you're absolutely sick and tired of hearing me cry over the same thing over and over and over again, but you do. You always find a way to make it a little better, whether that be by threatening to hurt whoever hurt me, or by threatening to punch me instead for overthinking about something that I have no reason to be stressing over.

10. We can have some pretty intense study dates!

We do! There's no denying that. You turn on your 'inspirational rap' music, and we can stay up until 2am cranking out our assignments! I'm pretty sure that those chairs in the library are unofficially, officially ours. People should know better by now than to take our spots.

11. We are the same person. Literally. The same.

It's honestly scary sometimes how similar we are. We finish each others sentences. We think about things the same way, and we like pretty much all of the same things. I'm pretty sure we were born twins that were just separated at birth. Not that I can say much against that, who in their right minds would want to raise both of us?

12. You support me.

You tell me that anything I want to accomplish, I can. But when I think I can't do something, you are the first to remind me of all that I am capable of

13. You are the co-author of a large amount of my text messages.

Seriously, if only boys knew how many of the messages they got were actually written by you.

14. You love me.

I'm annoying. I'm needy. I'm not easy to love, but somehow you still do!

15. Your closet is my closet.

How convenient is it that we are the same size? It's pretty great. A lot of my clothes actually look better on you than they do on me!

16. You get just as emotionally invested in the lives of the characters of Grey's Anatomy as I do.

Because it's so much more fun to have someone to yell at the TV with me during Grey's. And your mini bags of popcorn are never a bad idea.

17. Your sass.

There are days where I ask myself how I ever deal with you and all your sass, but it's what makes you, you. At the end of your day, I would miss your sass if you ever left me.

18. Football.

Need I say more? Our study sessions while watching football on Sundays make the homework a little bit more bearable, and tailgating on Saturdays is a lot of fun too.

19. You're my best friend.

I love you because of who you are and what you mean to me. I would be lost without you and I am so thankful that you are in my life. Thank you for everything.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
