19 Things Every Bookworm Knows To Be True

Summer is almost here, and if you're anything like me, you're most excited for the days when you get to read six or seven hours straight instead of soaking up the sun on a boat like normal people. If you're anything like me, you're a self proclaimed bookworm, and you're dang proud of it. Here's a few things every bookworm definitely knows to be true...

1. Walking into a bookstore is like waking up on Christmas morning, only 100x better.

2. Until you realize you only have enough money to buy one out of the 26 books you've grabbed off of the bookshelf.

3. Lending your book to someone is dangerous... and you usually have rules which include no eating or drinking when reading it.

4. But you stopped lending books to your friends after one of them lost or ruined your favorite book.

5. You can usually read for hours on end without getting sick of whatever it is that you're reading.

6. You take pride in your bookshelf and admire it often... that's normal, right?

7. But despite how amazing your collection is, you find yourself in dire need of more books.

8. And you even aspire to have not just a bookshelf, but a library like Prince Adam's someday.

9. You simply don't understand people who don't like to read.

10. People who've seen the movie but haven't read the book tend to drive you crazy.

11. You usually get excited when your favorite book is made into a movie though...

12. Until you realize that they'll probably ruin or screw up everything in the book, and then we also have the problem stated in #10.

13. You grow unusually attached to characters, who you have to remind yourself are not actually real.

14. You don't just shed a tear when your favorite character dies, but you full on mourn the tragedy.

15. And you know all too well the feeling of panic when there's only 10 pages left to resolve whatever is going on in the book.

16. You get frustrated when people don't get you a book as a gift, even though you gave them a giant list to chose from.

17. So you order books online instead and get a little too excited when they arrive at your door.

18. You probably know that your addiction is turning into a problem because you'd rather read than socialize...

19. But in all reality, you're proud to call yourself a bookworm.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
