If you grew up on the Jersey shore, consider yourself very lucky. Even though basically every other American (besides us Jersey residents) refer to New Jersey as "the armpit of America" they will never understand the pleasure of growing up there. Here are 19 signs you grew up on the Jersey shore.

1. You hate Benny's more than your ex-boyfriend.

2. It's called pork roll, not Taylor ham.

3. The beach is your go-to spot, whether it is 105 degrees or 40.

4. You can not stand when people think of New Jersey residents as the cast of Jersey Shore.

5. And no, you do not know Snooki.

6. You know what a WaWa is and will never appreciate any other gas station the way you do this one.

7. You don't actually call it "the shore".

8. Before you had a car you would bike ride literally anywhere, no matter how far.

9. No other state has as good of Jersey Mike's as we do.

10. You have drive by Bon Jovi's house hundreds of times. (Well only if your dad is as obsessed with him as mine is)

11. You can't leave the boardwalk without getting a cone from Kohr's.

12. You have had a slice of pizza bigger than your head, on multiple occasions.

13. Knowing literally nothing about central Jersey because who cares?

14. You have a designated beach that you go to

15. Kids these days will never know the importance of the beach bus

16. 3 pm traffic in the summer on the way home from the beach was your own personal form of hell in your moms all black interior Tahoe

17. No other state has the pleasure of knowing Bubbakoo's, Surf Taco or Rejuice. (Oh, and pork roll.)

18. You had the opportunity to see fireworks almost any night of the summer, and you usually did.

19. The smell of the salty air, no matter what state, will always take you back to childhood memories in the best place you should have grown up.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
